"Soooooo good.  I've been experimenting a lot with lava lately.  This makes me want to change my liquid of choice."

"@Rob S I'm intrigued too!  Scouring around for a download link right now."

"When I worked in game-retail, people would ask me what Izuna and Shiren were like, and of course I'd say "roguelike" without considering how cult and obscure that genre is.  I wonder if they thought I was saying it was like Assassin's Creed?

I did recommend Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon to a few RPG fans who wanted to try the genre out.  The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon  games aren't too bad either.  My first experience with the genre was "Fatal Labrynth" on the Sega Genesis.  We rented it when I was younger and I got frustrated and gave up on it.  I remember waking up in the middle of the night and coming downstairs to find my dad playing it almost obsessively though!"

"Wonderful article Eddy!  People like to pretend reviews are arbitrary scores spat out by machines, but the reality is that someone with their own impressions and history of and with videogames sat down and made that review.  You CAN set aside your base preferences, but we all have biases in gaming that are inseperable.  Rather than looking to find someone without ANY bias at all, readers should find a reviewer they agree with the most, or (like I do) follow a community of different reviewers."

"I second the notion that everyone around you is, in some way, like you.  TALK TO EVERYONE.  Joke around with people, make them smile.  It's silly to see people still in their bubble in a room full of thousands of people just like them.

At Pax East I started walking around the main hall yelling "Jason!?".  A packed hall of people started cracking up.  Suddenly, my joke and someone else's collided when another con go-er walked by carrying a single red balloon.  I gave chase, he ran, it was hilarious."

"I played through the entire game solo, and always had enough funds to develop every research option along the way.  I wonder if playing co-op cuts down your rewards, thus forcing you to specialize?

I prettymuch abused the stealth suit and tranquilizer pistol + FULTON to sneak my way through the game whilst capturing a full 10+ soldiers per mission.  When I had to fight a boss I had a full selection of assault rifles with grenade launchers, missle launchers, heavy machine guns, landmines, C4, etc. to choose from just by way of constantly spending all the cash I was passively raking in."

"During some of the briefing cutscenes on Mar Sara you'll notice one of the chairs in the background has a piece of paper with "0.2^" written on it.  "Point two repeating" were the odds of success Leroy Jenkin's party had calculated before his infamous (though staged) disruption of their plans."

"I'd be willing to bet the only thing he looks at while playing is the block preview at the top.  If he can remember where he's placing the blocks, aside from the block preview, the entire game is really going on inside is head."

"Seconding Transformice.  It's hilarious win or lose."

"I've never played the first game, but I've heard comments similar to yours from devoted fans that have me anticipating the sequel coming out this November."

"I met some people like this through working at a game-retailer.  Not working there anymore, and subsequently not having to deal with them anymore, was very liberating.  I feel like I can have "adult" level conversations with my friends about games again."

"You have no idea how happy seeing Boktai mentioned has made me.  Fond memories of sitting out on the porch trying to get the pathetic amount of sunlight we receive here in CNY to somehow register on the cartridge's UV sensor.

In the end I cheated and used a blacklight.  Good times."
