Bitmob Wants You: To Write About Prototype, Infamous

Infamous

Ah, remember the good ol' days of "GTA clone this" and "GTA clone that"? Nowadays, pistols and carjackings seem to have made way for superpowers and car-smashings.

We still have a little bit of a wait for Crackdown 2, but Prototype and Infamous are here now to fill our open-world superhero gaming needs (dare we call them "Spider-Man clones"? No, we dare not). Community member Trevor Hinkle already did a short comparison piece. But we'd like to hear more from you guys.

Write up your thoughts, reviews, commentary...whatever you want to write about. Then tag your stories "Prototype" or "Infamous" (or both if you're covering them together like Trevor did) so we can find them, and we'll post some sort of post-mortem wrap-up on the two games in a week or so...just like we did with Bionic Commando. Or not. Depends on what you guys come up with.

inFAMOUS will never satisfy my super-hero needs. I have an incredible hate for that game. But I'll write about it, anyways, because I don't hate BitMob.

Such a trooper, Michael!

Will write something about Prototype (which I am currently less then pleased with) after the weekend due to being buried in heaps of work.

My Prototype "vs" InFamous Blog post is up, if anyone wants to read it!

I'm glad Bitmob drops the capitalization crap with Infamous. None of these goddamn marketing logos for Bitmob!

well, I posted those pictures of the Game Nuts sign a while back.

I'm only in like one solid night of playing Infamous and I'm digging it so far. It kept me up WAY later than I wanted to while playing it which was a good sign. Bad sign was the repeating missions to clear the city of the Reavers. They mixed it up well in the beginning and then I got the same missions over and over again. Once I'm done I might write something up, but that probably won't be until a while from now.

I thought this was the same game.

I don't have either! Dang.

I think Shoe needs to dress up as Uncle Same so we can make an I want you poster.

I don't have a PS3 so I can't play inFamous. The exclusivity has prevented me from ever (at the current price point of a PS3) playing inFamous. I have however played Prototype for PC. The best comparison I can make is the Spiderman movie games but you get to do more (powers wise). It's not really deep, but it's fun and can't complain about it.

Really enjoying Infamous, this is a great idea. Guess I missed Bionic Commando.

I just did an entry as my first entry on bitmob. I signed up the week the site went public, but it either wasn't enabled or I couldn't figure out how to make entries at the time

So far, I'm appreciating this review:

http://tech-gaming.com/2009/06/17/prototype-reviewed.aspx

"With a neighboring release date, open-world urban structure, and a number of narrative similarities, Prototype will inevitably be compared to InFamous. Ideally, Radical Entertainment’s creation deserves to be recognized on its own merits. The title contains some of the most intense and satisfying combat in recent gaming history, while its narrative structure is refreshingly innovative."

I'm playing inFAMOUS now, and I hate it. I wanted to like it so much, but the more I play it, the more I hate it. I'm getting Prototype soon, but that doesn't seem too promising either.

I'm playing inFAMOUS now, and I hate it.

Finally, someone else who shares my hatred!
