A New Ninja Gaiden?

Well, the last time we played guessing game, it didn't turn out as exciting as we had hoped, but let's give this another shot.

We received a mysterious email today with the following image:

Along with this note:

Zen Studios is gearing up to make an announcement, and I wanted to give you a little peek as to what it might be, but if you must have a hint you’ll need to wait until tomorrow for the announcement on the official PlayStation Blog.

The email came from Reverb Communications, a PR firm more recently known for promoting The Beatles: Rock Band and Fairytale Fights rather than anything from Tecmo, who has its own internal PR by the way (Tecmo makes Ninja Gaiden, which is obviously what that picture is from).

So those are about the only clues we can give you other than the link to the Zen and Reverb sites. You may begin speculating now (start with: What is that symbol? Is it a "4"?).

UPDATE: Mystery solved!

I was going to say it's another DS game, but since it's being announced on the PlayStation Blog, I have no idea. Maybe Dead or Alive?

I agree with the first poster. Plus Ninja Gaiden 3 hasn't been announced yet.

Probably will be DOA 4 on the PS3.

The guy looks like Shredder from TMNT. Dead or Alive vs. Ninja Turtles?
Brett Bates , October 05, 2009
"Shredder" is Ryu Hayabusa, descended from the Hayabusa clan, and the main character of the series. How could you mistake him!?

Freakin' Nerd*.

*I kid.

Is it just me, or does that image look like the sort of thing that would be airbrushed on the side of someone's van?
Kris Pigna , October 05, 2009
How about a new game that pits him vs a clown force like no other that rides ostriches.
Toby Davis , October 05, 2009
has to be DOA 4 for the ps3
Juan Letona , October 05, 2009
I don't see a 4. I see ZP.

Now, what would ZP, Ninja Gaiden and not Tecmo lead to? ... I got nothing.
Alejandro Moreno , October 05, 2009
It is a ZP, not a 4. ZP, in this instance, stands for Zen Publisher.
Travis McReynolds , October 05, 2009
Wait, I take it back, it stands for Zen Pinball- Zen Studios last PSN game. There's going to be a new board for Ninja Gaiden on Zen Pinball. I win 100 internets.
Travis McReynolds , October 05, 2009
Check it. This is Zen Pinball's logo- same as the logo on the picture.
Travis McReynolds , October 05, 2009
@Travis, does that mean it will be DOA Pinball?

You also have to think that Ayane was in Ninja Gaiden, so it could be a Ninja Gaiden game. Just stating the obvious.
Kevin Zhang-xing , October 05, 2009
DOA or Ninja Gaiden pinball. Either way, the ZP is totally Zen Pinball. I'm keeping the 100 internets.
Travis McReynolds , October 05, 2009
Bust! I would've preferred DOA vs. TMNT.
Brett Bates , October 05, 2009
Yeah, this is a new table for Zen Pinball, ala the Street Fighter themed one they did a while ago.

Dan, fire up your PS3 every once in a while and play with us!
Jeremy LaMont , October 05, 2009
@Kris-HAHAHAHA, it does! I can't take it seriously now.
David Matos , October 05, 2009
I was WAY off on the last guessing game, so for this I am going to go with the pinball idea as well. Playing Ninja Gaiden well is sort of similar to watching a ball being bounced around anyway!

But what I would LIKE it to be is Two Player Co-op Ninja Gaiden!
Lance Darnell , October 05, 2009
Nice work on the pinball guess!

@Travis: IOU 100 internets.
