Somehow I've been suckered into helping out with the new community effort called Bitmob Game Club. (Sorry if that seems a bit combative; there's a reason.)
Much to my chagrin, my original post was deleted when I tried to unpublish a new post, so we'll keep this simple.
I wanted a banner that seems professional if we're going to do this community Game Club shindig.
What we need from you is artistic entries that'll look all nice on the Bitmob front page; in case the contributors make the front page, it's got to look good.
This means the banner needs to be in keeping with the overall aesthetic of the site.
Your part is to design a banner, submitted to jamesderosa [at] sophistgames [dot] com, and have it judged publicly in the Bitmob forum.
I won't be judging the entries. The community will vote. And, pending the approval of the community - and J. Cosmo Cohen, Lance Darnell, and W. Bryan Jacobs, progenators of this idea - the most popular banner will be selected.
The submission time will run from 9:00 PM PST/12:00 AM EST, September 6. I don't want to commit the selectors to any time schedule, but the winner will be chosen within a week after.
As a guideline, here's the first three entries:

Act now, this great deal is running out soon!

That has happened to me 3 times....very sad.
I write in Open Office, but I tweak my articles in the MyBlog window since I don't know how they'll act, and since there isn't any preview option, I just have to leave it open and open... and open.
I lost all the second proofreading I'd done and, of course, all the images I'd painstakingly placed.
I don't care though. My original Meet the Mob post was about continuing to support this great site despite its limited UI.
BITMOB STILL RULES!
BITMOB STILL RULES!
It rules like the O'Doyles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsNgRmsx-14
Now, you won't be able to view the page while it's unpublished, but if you've just added a bunch of images/links or tweaked the formatting a lot, "saving" it this way can be a lifesaver.
Just remember to switch it back to Publish when you want the post to go live!
