Bitmob Wants You: To Visit the Mushroom Kingdom

Captain Lou Albano as MarioIf you're in New York City this Saturday, you may get an opportunity to do something very few people get to do outside of the occasional hippy, college student, or Captain Lou Albano: visit the Mushroom Kingdom.

Nintendo is hosting a launch event for New Super Mario Bros. Wii in the Big Apple. They will be transforming the Nintendo World store into Mario's home world with costumes, a Mario-themed museum (with classic Super Mario Bros. memorabilia), tournaments, free prizes, and more.

In other words, it might be a nerd paradise, and we need someone to check it out for us and take a lot of pictures -- especially of the museum and of any bad costumes.

Check it out, come back, and post what you saw on Bitmob. And don't forget to tag your story "New Super Mario Bros. Wii" (without the quotes) so everyone can find it!

Details on the event after the jump.

What: New Super Mario Bros. Wii Launch Event

When: Saturday, Nov. 14, 3-7 pm EST

I may be going. Have to see if anyone will take the trip with me, but if so I'll cover it.

I'm happy to cover any events for you here in Atlanta, GA. So, next time it's 1997-1998, I'm your man.

There is a Head Shop near where I live called the Mushroom Kingdom. Unfortunately, its clientele and inventory don't have much to do with Nintendo. I could grab some photos of it anyway?

@Travis- Our day will come.

@Lance- Lance!?
Tommy Ingallinera , November 11, 2009
@Lance- How is this the first we're hearing of this? That's an awesome post waiting to happen.

@Tommy- Maybe. We still have the Salon and Medical Equipment Expo in ATL. Can't wait for SAMEX 2010!

@ Derek - What state do you live in?
J. Cosmo Cohen , November 11, 2009
I'm beginning to think Travis really is stuck in time about 12 years ago!
Dan Hsu , November 11, 2009
@Cosmo I'm from southern CT, so it's just a train ride down to the city.
Derek Lavigne , November 11, 2009
Alright update, I'm definitely going. Anyone have any requests?
Derek Lavigne , November 11, 2009
@Derek - Okay, cool. I may be going as well.
