The night before pre Christmas Eve video game playing ended in an exclamation mark of games, games and games. A week of gaming, for a "core" gamer, is an endless list adventures, smackdowns and sexual tension. In just one week, I played, Dragon Age Origins, Modern Warfare 2, DJ Hero, Demigod, Team Fortress 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, FIFA 10, and Tekken 6.
The time waster of the week goes to Dragon Age Origins, in attempts to sleep with Morrigan, group wipes and the quest destroy all blood mages, Bioware's fine fantasy RPG has its teeth in me. My main issue is that I wipe way to often, no rash yet, it seems that my tactics are behind the bell curve of other players. It can be hard at times, and so easy at times. The main issue is who do I designate as my "tank", either Alistar, Freckles my War hound, or my Warden, Quatemoc. I am a bad tank, although, I tanked some rough PUGS in World of Warcraft, and the tactic is the same idea in WoW, I just have not master it. There lays the design problem with the first play through for someone who may be knew to Dragon's Age, I just do not know all the skills by memory to employ them effectively.
I am learning, for example, send in Freckles, use her special and let the baddies focus on her, as Alistar tanks another baddie and my Warden pounds away with a two handed Axe. During the melee, I control Morrigan, who does crowd control and damage. The problem I ran into last night, and the Mage dungeon in general, I decided to leave Freckles out of the party, sorry pooch, and invited Leliana to open the locked chests. Alistar, at first, was not an effective tank, but after a few wipes, I think I may have the hang of it. I have played two Origins, the woods elf and the city elf. The woods elf origin was played at an industry event, and I manage fairly well in passing the first dungeon with the three player party, but on the city elf dungeon, using only two players, both melee class, proved to be much more difficult.
Trying to get back into the groove all things Modern Warfare 2, played an hour of Spec Ops, missions are hard and challenging, all of the missions should of belong into the story mode.
Waiting in line for a console game while Christmas shopping on the last Sunday before the HO HO HO and the jingle, jingle was the last place I should of been, but there I was marveling at the skills of a young lady hitting every beat, scratch and fade at my local Best Buy. She rarely missed, and watching her play made me want to play and buy the damn thing. A hundred bucks is not bad at all, unlike those Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2 sucker packs, you get a game and a special controller. DJ Hero is on my, Fry's or Target clearance shopping stop drive by, and I may just spend a hundred bucks on it.
My Bayonetta search for a broken street date ended in false hopes and promises.

OK. Demigod,
I want to love you and at eight dollars, I thought you was a steal, but hey we are having issues. Maybe I should of read at the manual before our first night, maybe I was too tired with my trysts with Morrigan, or maybe I thought you was like my ex, Dawn of War 2, cause we are having problems. I might call you back, but do not take it personally, because I am not that just into you.
Team Fortress 2,
I love you. You are my backup when I want some fun in the sand. There is problem, I want the goodies to drop faster, and more frequent. I do not want to play for four hours and not get any rewards, foreplay is awesome, but lets climax already baby. Pretty please?
Marvel Ultimate Alliance,
I came home late, I was a bit drunk, and well I decide to play you. Spider-Woman is hot in her spandex, and what can I say, I gave you some many play throughs on my PSP, but on a console there are issues. Jaggies, Laggies and slow Framerate, it was fun when we met, but know, you do look fat in those jeans.
FIFA 10 may never get old at my house, thats until EA releases its World Cup 2010 game, but until then all of my friends want to play this game before anything else. Borderlands, MW Spec Ops, Tekken 6, Street Fighter 4 all take a back seat to FIFA. Lounge mode is fun, but head to head matches with pride, money and bragging rights keeps the game in my PS3 blu ray drive. Sad part, we tried to do a 32 team World Cup tournament with the actual teams drawn in December, a bunch more than ten, were missing. What's up with that EA?
I played a bit of the story mode in Tekken 6, cutscene heavy with very little gameplay involved, if it sounds like bore it must be a bore. With so many enemies on screen, it seems the graphics took a hit to fit all the baddies and level design into it. It's like trying to hump a watermelon, there is just no way to hold it down right ends up not being a pretty sight at all. Bragging rights pretty much go with the player who can do this...
