"se are really good reads but aren't the comparisons a little unfair? I think the first DQ came out a few years earlier than the first FF. So wouldn't it be a better comparison to compare the first FF to the 2nd DQ since they were released closer tog"

"'t feel bad, I didn't care for it either. I actually didn't like the combat system all that much either. I would have to put that game on my list of most overhyped games of all time. I have played many RPG's that are much better than this one. I sometimes don't get it when people give you trouble just because you don't like a game that everyone who plays games seems to think is a great"

"e recently been playing games with my wife as well and having a blast. We loved Marvel Ultimate Alliance but can't find much to play on 360 or Wii that are like that or Sacred. We had to go to the Virtual Console on our Wii to play Secret of Mana to get our co-op RPG gamin"

"a few more thoughts from some of the audio guys:
If music is playing during loading until the "New Game" appears, that means we are detecting his setup and using it. We only do this detection at boot time. Once the main menu appears, a profile is read which stores if he had his audio enabled and volume settings. If these indicate no audio or volume, we will turn off audio.
Now this seems to rule out a bug in detecting/using his speaker configuration, but maybe there is some bug with the audio options menu or the profile loading.
That was followed by this comment:
It still sounds as though he has audio disabled in the options, with the audio either set at 0 volume or set to disabled. Because if all the audio initialization has already occurred before the main menu (when his audio works), the only thing we do when entering the main menu is load their preferred audio settings from their profile.
The only thing I could think of would be to enter the audio option menu while in-game and set audio disabled. Then re-enter the audio options menu and set it to enabled again. Or he could try running the game with a different user profile (which should use the default audio settings).
I hope this helps. Once you get it working for the demo, it should work the same for the retail game if you decide to get it again. Sorry this hasn't worked for you, the people at Volition wish there was more they could do to"

"ll no luck recreating. Did you have the MP or SP demo on your PS3 prior to installing the retail game? One person said that they didn't have any audio when they installed the game at home but found out that something from one of the demos had dropped his in game audio to 0. They said that the game doesn't load your profile settings until the main menu which may be why you had audio during the THQ/Volition splash screens. If you didn't get the SP/MP demo, maybe download one of those and see if you get audio at the main menu because it uses the same code as the retail game as it relates to the audio. Hope this is he"

"rew,
I realize that the trailer may not have connected with you as much because you didn't play the first game but is it really fair to put it in the 'worst' of category just for that? As a fan of the first game, this trailer is the first thing I've seen that really gets me interested in the next entry in the series by showcasing some of the changes in the game. Also, the trailer I saw did have in game footage along with cutscenes. Judging it just as a trailer to hype a game, I thought it did a pretty good job. Maybe not the best in show (that would go to Dragon Age: Origins) but definitely not the"
