You missed the biggest drawback of DD for me -- that there's not a standard system regarding continued ownership!
For example, the videos I downloaded on Zune will likely be mine to access for as long as Zune exists. In fact, I'm confident that just about everything I've downloaded on my Xbox 360 will transfer to MS next console.
But if you look at the DSi for example, the games purchased on that system don't transfer over to the 3DS. I also have yet to hear a guarantee that the virtual console titles downloaded on my Wii will transfer to Nintendo's next system.
For me, that kills the deal. When I buy something, I expect to have it as long as I live.
You also neglected to mention that you can't sell or trade DD content. There's a lot of XBLA titles that I'd really like to sell off, but I can't. This makes me more resistent to downloading other games in the future.

I used to having a running joke with my friends in which I'd say that Peach is secretly having an affair with Bowser and that she wanted to be kidnapped. A while later, Super Mario Sunshine came out. A ways through the game, Bowser Jr. makes his debut, turns to Peach and exclaims "Momma!!"
My friend and I exchanged glances and I couldn't help but scream, "You whore!!! I knew it!!!"
Could you imagine Peach giving birth to that thing? The spikes on his shell.... yowch.

A little heavy on the Japanese-developed titles, but a good list nonetheless.

This is sort of a big joke to me.
I know so many people consider it blasphemy, but I think both Infinity Ward and Bungie are overrated developers. Commercially speaking, their true value derives from their respective franchises -- Modern Warfare and Halo -- both of which are also overrated.
But in this business, the name of a hit game franchise can be everything. It's ironic because publishers have wanted Bungie for years in order to rake in the Halo audience, but lately that franchise wasn't as valuable anyway since Modern Warfare replaced Halo as the must-have FPS game of this generation.
Now Infinity Ward is essentially gone and Activision has replaced them with a Halo-less Bungie. Likewise, EA now has the creative heart behind Modern Warfare without actually having the Modern Warfare franchise.
In other words, what's in a name? In this industry? Everything. The majority of gamers pre-order titles in droves because of the name of the game, not the developer or the individuals within the developer.
