FROM THE DESK OF THE MINISTER OF GAME THEORY

Briefing: 12-28-09
Clearance Level: Blue
Subject: Fighting / Organizational
To: All Field Agents

Abstract: Contents pertain to the charter of the Ministry and recent high-level gameplay events.

-- BRIEF FOLLOWS --

Good day to all field agents. This is a coded blue briefing open classification for all readers. Feel free to make copies.

First, I'd like to welcome you to the Ministry. You should know that your inclusion in our organization is a continuation of the finest traditions in the observation of gaming and pop-culture phenomena. Your eager mind and enjoyment of electronic entertainment will be a benefit to our organization and, of course, to the world.

You are reading this briefing now because the concepts and mission of the Ministry have become declassified. We can now proudly announce our existence and carry out our important mission of recording, analyzing, and influencing game culture.

Attached you will find a video communique from the 2009 Tekken 6 North American Championships. Namco Bandai held this event in San Francisco, California in December 2009. I highly recommend you review this video, as the Tekken 6 gameplay from this tournament is of the highest caliber. It is critical that if you find yourself facing a Tekken 6 match in the field, that you have prepared yourself mentally for what you might face. Additionally, recognizing some of the usual suspects in the Tekken arena will certainly be valuable and possibly prevent a humbling experience.

Agent, you will be receiving ongoing briefings from the Ministry at various times, which will either aid in your critical gaming skills, provide insight to design and game creation, or simply entertain and broaden your horizons in the game industry.

For your service, I salute you!

Signed,
Tracy Ryan Peterson

Some constructive criticism. . . the voiceover work is too serious and comes off as joyless. Remember, it's a video game competition not a documentary about a natural disaster that killed people.

I've always wanted to break into video content, but never had the resources. I like this idea.

I like the tone of writing here. Very "professional" and secret agent-like. Although I'm still not entirely sure what the Ministry of Game Theory is. Sounds British.

Anyway, for those who enjoyed watching the gameplay footage here, I encourage you to check out the Youtube channel Jon747.
He uploads a ton of Korean eSports, including the Tekken 6 matches. Definitely worth checking out how to pros play overseas!

David: Thank you, it certainly wouldn't be worth it if it wasn't fun.

Michael: You are likely already a field agent.

Spencer: thank you.

Shawn: I wish I had full coverage of all the fights, the best I could do was to try to capture the pace of the night.
