I'm not sure if you guys have heard just yet, but Starcraft 2 (some sort of spaceship-nerd game, or something) comes out at midnight tonight. I don't know what the big deal is, but it seems that some folks really love this series -- here are some video tributes to the game. I apologize ahead of time.

Starcraft 2 Beta Rap:
This is one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life.

It gets better (or worse) after the jump.

Real Life Starcraft 2?:
OK, this is actually the worst thing I've ever seen in my life.

Real Life Starcraft:
This video looks like friggin' Avatar compared to the previous clip. That does not mean that I think it's good, though. What is wrong with you maniacs?

Starcraft Vocal Mimicry:
There's a crowd of people that really seem to be enjoying this guy. Like I said before: Maniacs.

I've actually never played any of the Starcraft games, but I hear nothing but good things about them, so I'll probably give SC 2 a go. If I'm inspired to make a video about the game I'll be sure to share it with you guys.

This post is awesome. The second video is clearly the winner.

Can't stand RTS's. Don't know why though. Maybe it is the disconnect between me and the action. I don't like playing God (or General, etc.) in games. I like actually being in full control of my character. Something about pointing and clicking and watching things happen does not entertain me. Although, I can not remember the name of the game, there was one game recently that mixed both RTS and FPS genres into one. Raven Squad maybe??

Anyway, the game was awful, but the idea was great. I liked being able to pull the camera back RTS style, work out a plan, move my guys into position, then jump back into FPS mode and move forward. It had a nice pace to it that you don't normally see in games. If only someone could take that idea and make a good game with it.

I never understood the appeal of Starcraft. Any RTS generally leaves me a little cold. I also have no idea why this was so popular with "actions per minute" being a holy grail of some sort. How can you attain a lot of "actions per minute" with an RTS? It was always seemed to be about waiting.

Haha, I think I got a bigger laugh out of your write-ups/descriptions than the videos themselves. :)
