I noticed the dancing bear warrior appeared to be ... ahem, flopping around. I easily defeated the Grizzled Boor in Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, the point-and-click adventure game for iPad. But I was definitely distracted during our battle.

I couldn’t help but stare at his crotch. I thought, “Dude, that’s totally his junk hanging out.” To be sure, I asked Nathan Vella, co-founder and president of developer CAPY Games, and he confirmed my suspicion.

“There’s an interesting split between people,” he told me. “About a third of the people who play notice he has a wiggly pixel dong. A third of them ask us something like, “Is that a wiggly pixel penis?” And the rest just don’t even notice that he has an actual, fully animated pixel penis.”

The part that I find the funniest is, though full-frontal bear nudity might sound obscene, the genitals in question amount to maybe five little solid-color blocks. It looks more like a Tetris cock, err, block, more than anything. In a way, it even looks censored already.  

But why exactly does the Grizzled Boor let it all hang out? Nathan lightheartedly explained that the game's primary designer, who goes by the name Superbrothers, “is a pervert. He’s a sexual deviant.”

And there you have it.
