Mobcast Episode 31

Demian_-_bitmobbio
Monday, November 30, 2009

Aaaaaand we're back. Special guest and EGM alumnus Crispin Boyer joins regular Bitmobbers Michael Donahoe, Dan "Shoe" Hsu, and Demian Linn to discuss games that didn't live up to our expectations, why we (some of us) stop or slow down our gaming, how our review criteria has changed over the years, and movie directors that we'd like to see take on game-to-film adaptation projects.

Our community question comes from Michael Pangelina, who asks this three-parter: "What writers or books did you look up to when you were starting out, and who would you recommend for the Bitmob community's aspiring writers to garner inspiration from? What kind of authors do you guys enjoy now, as well?"

Have a question you want answered? Want to share some important insight with the world? Email the crew at letters@bitmob.com.

The community question sounds very very interesting. Can't wait to download this episode and listen to your opinions on books and writers. Good to "see" -- good to "read" sounds weird -- Crispin's joining you for this one, he's quite the funny guy -- can't forget that Metal Wolf Chaos episode of Broken Pixels.

On the Wes Anderson thing -- I can totally see him doing a Yoshi's Island movie. It can be a great offshoot of the Fantastic Mr Fox stop-motion style. Plus all of that color will the the film wonders.

Oh, GOOD FOR YOU! I loved this podcast, everyone was really funny. Don't fire on those innocent people, oh no! Is that the one where you blow up that orphanage? SPREAD-SHOT! Donahoe was Q-Man?

I finally got around to listening to all of the old Mobcast episodes. This one was likely my favourite in a while. Good show guys. I can do with the advice - we call can. Keep em' comin.

Oh, dang! My question got answer-ified! Thanks, guys! I'm a big fan of that Christian Bale rant. Some of his best work. Fun Fact: I'm actually of Mexican, Filipino, and Spanish descent. No mafia ties that I'm aware of. Unless helping my dad tile a pizza restaurant counts.

@Michael: I, too, am a huge fan of The State. It was easily one of the greatest comedy shows on TV then. I was beginning to think I was the only one who loved that show and remembered it.
