Funnily enough, Greg Ford was still a regular the last time I listened to The Geekbox, so his special guest appearance was a return to the standard for me. I appreciate the grammar and writing advice too. I had forgotten that the "there is" construction is a form of passive voice. I can usually spot and eliminate the auxiliary verb + past participle combination in my own writing, but now I'll add the "there is" construction to the list of written don'ts as well.
