If Santa Claus made video games, what would you want him to make for you?
Earlier this week the Bitmob staff posted their fondest holiday gaming wishes, and today we asked our intrepid Facebook and Twitter followers the same thing. We also asked them which TV shows they'd like to see in video-game form -- community writer Chris Cosmo Ross got us started with four great ideas, and our followers came up with many more.
So check out the answers below -- and don't forget to follow our Facebook and Twitter accounts to get a heads-up on news, articles, and contests. We do these Tweetbook Q&A articles every Friday, so if you want to be featured, keep an eye out and respond!
If Santa could bring you anything gaming-related (whether it exists or not), what would you want?
Via Twitter:
@Morinar (Nick Seegmiller): A zombie MMO in the "Zombieland" universe. Or a Red Dead Redemption MMO. I'm not picky. Oh, and a Borderlands MMO. Please and thank you.
@Juanchitomayor: A new TIE Fighter flight sim game is what I want. But I'll stay away from the Thrustmaster160000.
@2gays1joystick: A game that has a gay black dude for a protagonist. Oh, and that can't be part of the game's main story.
@robidoo: I want me some Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, BioShock 2 (late to the party, I know), Gran Turismo 5, etc.
Via Facebook:
Aki Darwich-Mcfadden: My fondest gaming wish is that Square Enix stops giving crazy budgets to Final Fantasy games and starts working seriously on Star Ocean, Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You, and new intellectual properties!
Doug Otto: I would wish for a crazy announcement for the next Half-Life. Like, if it was announced today and they said it was to be released in a month. That would be absolutely ridiculous.
Phuoc DoubleClutch Tran: My gaming wish would be a MMO Zelda game where your character is fully customizable, with the same type of gameplay that's in the other Zelda games. It would be chaotic.
Edgar Mena: My gaming wish would be a free-to-play City of Heroes, because that monthly fee would dominate my gaming budget each year.
What TV show would you want made into a game?
Via Twitter:
@rusmclaughlin: I want "Jersey Shore" as a Mortal Kombat fighting game. Eviscerate The Situation? That's three million units sold right there.
@bbretterson (Brett Bates): How about "Monk?" Think of the puzzles: You'd have to straighten up every crime scene before you could leave, etc.
@GlockNRollin (Jackson Hughes): "The Prisoner," the original. How awesome of an adventure/RPG would that make?
@CHoadley (Chris Hoadley): "Megas XLR," but not on one controller. I need to use a pad, wheel, arcade stick, and Dance Dance Revolution mat all at once to pilot my giant robot car.
@akwinters (Chris Winters): "Veronica Mars." Loved that show, and in the right developer's hands it could make a great series of adventure games.
@gregfood (Greg Ford): The action-spy stylings of "Burn Notice" would be great. You'd have some detective work and then some showdowns.
@robidoo: "Firefly." I think it would make a great Mass Effect-y type game. Think of the Mal Reynolds dialogue options.
@Juanchitomayor: A telenovela/daytime soap that plays like Oblivion/Fallout 3. But with limited violence -- speech and sneak-type gameplay would be primary.
@TheSmokingManX (Chris Pereira): When I saw that article yesterday, I clicked ready to comment saying "X-Files!!!" So I was happy to see it atop the list. "Supernatural?" "24?"
@Morinar (Nick Seegmiller): "Firefly!" There really aren't any other choices.
Via Facebook:
Evian Machore: To go old school, I would say Nickelodeon's old "Nick Arcade" game show.
Edgar Mena: The short-lived series "Legend of the Seeker" would make a great action-RPG similar to Diablo. it has a rich setting with tons of novels to draw from, and with the show canceled I'm sure the actors are free to provide their voices. :)
Doug Otto: I would like to see a game adaptation of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force." Maybe something along the lines of a third-person shooter. That would be ridiculous. Especially if you have a credible team behind it to actually make it good.
Phuoc DoubleClutch Tran: "The Walking Dead" would be a sure thriller as a video game.
