It's easy to dismiss Uncharted: Golden Abyss's touch controls as adding nothing to the experience, but consider this a defense of their inclusion and the noble sentiment they represent.

Dragon Age 2 is not the consolefied catastrophe a vocal minority on the Internet would have you believe. Most of the changes that have become a lightning rod for fanboy scorn are so minor that within a couple hours of playing the game you’ll forget why anyone ever cared. Dragon Age 2’s problems run far deeper...

Is the 3DS too expensive? How can the PSP2 possibly be affordable? What happens if they cost the same price? While the Internet is in a tizzy over these very questions, it's worth it to take a realistic look at what handheld devices cost to build in order to inject some reason into the debate.

What do Final Fantasy XIII and Black Ops have in common? Both are built around the assumption that all anyone wants is non-stop action. But has that made them better games or proven to be completely fallacious? Read on for an in depth look at both games and the casualties of this twisted design philosophy.

Two weeks ago I purchased my first current generation console, a used Xbox 360. What follows is a record of my experience as a new owner and my initial impressions of the platform.

What purpose do the infinitely respawning enemies in the Call of Duty series serve and is it unfair to criticize their inclusion? Perhaps the acclaimed miniseries Band of Brothers might shed some light on the issue...

The new Medal of Honor game sparks a look into the conspicuous absence of civilians on the battlefield in recent military shooters. Can or should developers tackle an issue like collateral damage?

"Why didn't you just return it to the original retailer? That's what you're supposed to do in these situations, not act like an internet martyr because you didn't read the box."

"Thanks! Dragon Age 2 is easily my most disappointing title for the year. My fear is that the underfunded development and underbaked design will be seen in retrospect as the canary in the coal mine of Bioware's decline. EA misappropriating the Bioware brand for every random studio they want would be less troubling if the mothership at Edmonton hadn't laid such an egg with DA2."

"About the only good thing you can say about the Wii U is we'll finally be getting Mario, Zelda and Metroid in HD. I don't think the gimmick is strong enough to draw in casuals, and the hardcore gamers don't need another platform to buy 3rd party titles on. They've already got a PS3 or 360 (or both), and in a couple years when Sony and MS launch their next generation the Wii U won't be getting those ports anymore because the hardware will be a generation behind again."

"So your only evidense that your credit card fraud is related to the PSN breach is timing? How do you rule out the thousands of other was credit card numbers are stolen every single day? It's nice that you've got a scapegoat for your anger, but try and remember you don't actually have any proof these events are connected and we have lots of proof they probably weren't. And think about this, for all you know some other company actually exposed your card number and they haven't given you any warning whatsoever, if they even know! In any case, you should be well protected by Visa's 100% fraud protection gurantee."

"Between Kotick's statement and the $100-off coupon for new PS3s at Gamestop I think there's a pretty good chance we'll see a $100 price drop announced by Sony at E3."

"The fact that the logs now have psuedonyms attached doesn't change my opinion of their veracity. In any case that log is from over 2 months before the PSN breach occured and the state of PSN security was not static over the intervening period."

"It's from a nmap log no one knows who generated that shows literally dozens and dozens of PSN servers all running the most current stable version of Apache and like 7 that weren't. But since we don't know what those 7 out of date servers actually do we can't draw that many conclusions. This article was only ever intended to demonstrate that Sony was up to date on the majority of the PSN servers. Previously it has been suggested by many, erroneously, that Sony had not been updating Apache at all."
