We are gathered here today, to mourn the passing of a good friend.
Lightgun was kind of ridiculous, but I think that's what made me like him even more. He made me feel, almost cool, even though what accompanied him couldn't keep you entertained for very long. There was just something about him that brought people together.
All of my friends just loved being around him. By the end of the night, he was always covered in pizza grease and pressed right up against the television screen. He never said a word about how cheap that was, because all he cared about was that we were having fun.
And he wasn't ashamed of who he was. He would always be dressed in an outrageously bright orange. He knew he looked childish, but that was his point. He wanted everyone to know that he was only out to have fun. A pacifist through and through, he couldn't bare the thought of someone getting hurt on his watch, just because of the way he looked.
Technology may have killed you my friend, but nobody has forgotten your love of having fun. The Wiimote can never replace you, no matter what piece of plastic we place it in. Let us not remember Lightgun in death, but how he lived. You will be missed, friend, you will be missed.

I miss light guns. I bought Time Crisis 3 for PS2, and the damn thing didn't work on HDTVs. Yeah, Wiimotes just don't cut it. RIP.
Actually, the Nyko PerfectShot is pretty awesome. Makes that thing from Link's Crossbow Training look like a joke.
@James - I've almost bought that a couple times. I think I'll just stick with the plain old wiimote though.
It definitely looks better than the Zapper.
@Brian Bite your tongue sir!
ZAPPER 4 LIFE!
I remember one Halloween where I dressed up in a bright orange hat and vest and dual-wielded a couple of those Zappers. I was a "Duck Hunter."
No one understood it, but I thought it was awesome.
@Chase: Haha, best misunderstood costume ever. Reggie would have been impressed.
In addition to the pizza grease and pressing up against the TV, one time at college we decided to "upgrade" our NES zapper by attaching a laser pointer to the side (via the miracle of duct tape) and giving it a sight. Freshmen ingenuity at its finest, right there.
@Bryan - Haha, that is kind of awesome sounding. I kind of want to try that.
