For a series dominated by zombies, mutants and wild animals, Resident Evil has actually had an imposing human antagonist in Albert Wesker. He betrayed his fellow officers in the original game (14 year old spoiler alert) and has been a nuisance ever since. Resident Evil 5 should have been a cathartic experience, one where gamers finally got to knock the smug bastard down a few pegs. The coolness factor of watching him dodge bullets and punch through walls increased the stakes as the game progressed. Yet the finale was marred by an extended quicktime event sequence which led to a final battle against a less-than-human incarnation of the man. Albert (Mister Wesker if you’re nasty) deserved better.

Yeah, there's a very good chance he'll live on despite the dire straits he was in at the end of RE5, but that doesn't change my disappointment with the QTE-hell I went through to get to him. And the fights where he was a superhuman were far more exciting than the finale where he was a lumbering mess.
I blame Uroborous. And the plot revelation that he was engineered in a lab in the first place. I liked the bullshit they came up with for Wesker's Report way better, that he planned for Tyrant to impale him in RE1 the whole time, and mutated himself shortly before. Or did I like that better?
Wait a minute. It was ALL bullshit!
The end boss for Resident Evil 5 should have been N'Gai Croal. Heh. ;)
