Question: What do you get when you cross Braid, World of Goo, and Plants vs. Zombies?
Answer: The Clash of the Indie Titans!
Welcome to the fourth edition of the Bitmob Game Club. Alex R. Cronk-Young's Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine series has drawn to a close, and it's time to choose a new game for Game Club number four. And this time, the game selection is truly epic.
We have three games up for consideration: Braid, an indie darling created by kung fu master Jonathan Blow; World of Goo, a game by 2D Boy that has more character than Disney World; and Plants vs. Zombies, PopCap's inspired foray into the real-time strategy genre.
As a slight departure from the three prior Game Clubs, this round's choices actually cost a little bit of money. But don't worry. Since I'm not participating in the actual editorializing, I'll let you in on a little secret: They're all worth the price.
Cast your vote for the game you want to see reviewed by your fellow Bitmobbers in the comments below, or, better yet, throw your name in the hat to participate in the Game Club itself!
Hit the jump to find out more about participation guidelines.
1. I'll announce the winning game next Sunday, and email the participants for the fourth edition that day. From then on, we work on a weekly basis. The following Friday will be the due date for your first week's draft, and I will post them all on Sunday. This will give me Saturday to edit your entries.
2. If you cannot commit to three to four weeks of playing through a section of a video game and briefly writing about it, then please do not enter. I don't want to be bothered with having to send you countless email reminders. It's not too hard to get a submission in, but it's even easier to not sign up if you don't have the time.
3. If you can't keep up, you will be pulled out of the Game Club after missing two successive Friday deadlines.
So there you go. Sign yourselves up and vote on the game in the comments below!
