I just finished reading Jeffrey Sandlin's article on Bitmob Resumes, an idea to get Bitmob community members together to work on projects outside of Bitmob. It's an interesting idea, but as I read through the article, I started to get an idea of my own.
While going through my day, I'm constantly thinking up ideas for potential Bitmob articles. I write all these down in a little notebook I take to all my classes. Some of these ideas get turned into articles (see: every article I've written for this site, save for this one,) some stay in the notebook, waiting their turn, and some end up getting the ax after I decide it's either too ambitious or when I realize that I'm not the right person to do the idea justice.
But chances are, one of you fellow Bitmobbers are the right person for the job. Maybe one of you is having a bit of a drought (hey, we've all been there,) and could use a little inspiration. How can I get my unused idea into your writer's-blocked hands?
I propose a new tag (possibly even a new tab if it gets popular enough): "Help Wanted." If you have an idea, some preliminary research, or a half-finished article, slap a "Help Wanted" tag on it and post it up. That way all of those uncultivated, unpolished ideas can be aggregated into one easy-to-locate pool and maybe find a good home in someone else's article.
For example: I've had this idea for an article about how playing video games may have affected the way I (and possibly others) learn. I'm a goal-oriented person and like to work on one thing at a time, so as to give it my full focus and effort. Could that be due to the linear, level-based games I grew up with like Mario and Mega Man? I don't know, and sadly, I don't have the drive to really explore the topic. But it's quite possible some Bitmobber out there finds this idea fascinating and will take the time to flesh it out.
So the next time you think, "man, this is a great idea, I'm just not the person to write it," post it with the "Help Wanted" tag so it won't go to waste.

Interesting idea. My clipboard of notes has some ideas on there from last fall. Not sure if they are good for anyone though.
I know exactly what you are talking about. It's easy to create concepts sometimes and not really the detail. "Help Wanted" could also be called "Pitch"
Cool beans. I think this idea could really work out rather well with a little support. Also, hilariously enough, it was the first name I came up with for my idea then I changed it to resumes because help wanted didn't quite accurately describe the structure of what I was doing with the other idea.
@Jeffrey that's a pretty cool coincidence. I also thought of "Bitmob Classifieds," but I liked the idea of the help wanted poster.
