Blizzard Job Posting Suggests Product Placement in Upcoming "Project Titan"

Blizzard Entertainment has been long at work on their Massively Multiplayer follow-up to World of Warcraft, codenamed Titan. While there still haven't been any details released about the game officially, a recruitment posting on Blizzard's webpage suggests that there will be ads and product placement in the game.

Blizzard is looking for someone who can not only coordinate licensing for merchandise in the real world--action figures, comic books, t-shirts, etc.--they also want someone who can coordinate product placement in the world of their game. Some are using this information to claim that Titan will have a modern setting, but given how easily Blizzard put motorcycles and flying rockets in their fantasy game, I don't think this is indicative of anything game-related.

If you have a bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in project management and licensing, why don't you apply for the job? Then, when you get it, send all relevant information about the game to me. I won't tell anyone.

I haven't played a game with a lot of product placement unless you consider Marvel vs. Capcom a giant advertisment for both companies, but I don't see the problem with it as long as it's natural and not obnoxiously forced in.

I'd be very curious about a Blizzard game in a modern setting. Either that, or they could just put product placement in the background of levels in a new The Lost Vikings game. (Yeah, that was Blizzard.)
