Call of Duty XP in video: Jersey Shore meets Apocalypse Now

Did you miss the Call of Duty XP Event that Activision held in LA at the beginning of the month? Well we sure didn't. We've got not one but two rather distinctly different video tours of XP that, when taken together, should have something for just about everyone: Interviews and event highlights, Host Chloe Dykstra dancing with a ghillie-suited sniper, random people ziplining, potential Jersey Shore alternate castmembers...and that's just the first video.

Credits: Executive Producer: Sebastian Haley, Director/Editor/Camera: Adam Dorsey, Host: Chloe Dykstra, additional camera: Benjamin Rait, Evan Campbell.

Changing gears just slightly, we also have one man's (Adam Dorsey's) journey into XP madness.

Warning: boxer-briefs be here!

Credits: Written by Adam Dorsey and P. Nathan Smith, additional camera: P. Nathan Smith and Evan Campbell.

XP looks like fun. I'm not as big into shooters as I used to be, but I'd still go to something like this if it was affordable. And I'd have a good time and not make fun of the people there, which is a little counter-productive to the whole gamer movement.

I'm sorry you thought these videos were making fun of the fans. I really tried in the first video to show how everyone there was really exited to be there and having a really great time. That said, Activision handing out a gift bag with the code for the new game, a bag of doritos, and a limited edition moutain dew IS counter-productive to a mature gamer movement, and only solidifies gamer stereotypes. If anything, that's what I was pointing fun of in the second video, besides just the parody of real war mixed with gaming war. Well, okay, I guess I was making fun of myself too.

Thanks for watching.

Oh, no. Demian's comment about Jersey Shore may have been inappropriate, but the videos themselves were fine. I was more commenting generally about how a lot of people reacted negatively about XP, when this is exactly the kind of event we need if we're going to continue to grow as a community.

No worries! You did fine. This is a definite step up from "booth babes are idiots."

Michael,

I share your sentiments. (Yeah, grow up DEMIAN!).

The event was really cool but some things made it seem a little strange as far as it being a very expsensive marketing endeavor. Personally I prefer more grass roots type gatherings but all kinds of people came out of the wood work for COD XP it was good to see. I agree events like this could potentially improve online and community ediquette as well.

Ya know, I was born and raised in Brooklyn and moved to Jersey when I was about 5. Now I have been living in Jersey for 22 years. I live 25 minutes from the Jersey Shore and visit often. In my entire 22 years of living in Jersey and being everywhere in the state, I have never, EVER met anyone like the douche bags from Jersey Shore. Ever.

I think they are just fakes who created personas and tried to represent Jersey (even though most of them aren't actually from Jersey). Oh also can anyone tell me what camera you guys used for all of that footage? The Hotel room stuff in the second video looks great! I need to replace my Panasonic AGDVX100B.

Apocalypse Now!

It's all shot with a Canon t3i. It's an amazing camera, I highly recommend.

Sweet, I am going to research that one. If you don't mind me bothering you one more time, how is it in 24p? Can you only shoot 24p in 1080p? Does the 24p stutter or jitter at all? These are common problems I have with the Panasonic AGDVX100B.
