So far, I'm really pleased with the Xbox 360 Game Room service, even though it's going the way of the Wii's Virtual Console with steadily decreasing releases. It reminds me of amazing games I played when I was much younger -- and of the scary days in dark arcades when I could barely reach the controls.

Game Room is inspiring more than fits of nostalgia. The idea of rereleasing Haunted House got Atari thinking, and now a new version is in the works for the 360, Wii, and PC this Halloween [via the Retroist]:

I'm not exactly thrilled by the look of this game, though it does explain why the Haunted House theme in Game Room looks the way it does. What do you think of this? Do you have any fond memories of the original that you'd like to share?
