Nowadays, kids have no respect for the games their elders played! Mattel and Atari captivated the hearts and minds of gamers long before the rise of the big three of Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony. You may be too young to remember the days of SNK and Sega, but luckily the folks at OnlineEducation have created a simple infographic detailing the evolution of consoles and games since 1967.

Although the diagram doesn't include some consoles like the Saturn and the Neo Geo, OnlineEducation did an excellent job of sketching out the general progression of the industry. Imagining all the games released between today and 1967 really makes my fingers hurt, especially since I've only ever owned four consoles [via OnlineEducation].
