With hundreds -- if not thousands -- of game-themed cakes flooding the trons, wedding planners must be running out of ideas. Or are they?

While planning her wedding on a tight budget, graphic designer Donna decided to save a little money and go the DIY route and fashion an 8-bit wedding for herself. Though making everything herself wasn't quite as cost-effective as she hoped, the results are spectacular [via Technabob]:

Hit the jump for Donna's hair clips and cake topper.

Pretty cool, though I wouldn't do anything wacky like that at my wedding. No, I won't be wearing my Xbox 360 pants down the aisle next month.

The cake topper kinda looks like Edgar and Celeste from FFIII. And the guy who typed that sentence kinda looks like a hermit. @Aaron- It took an act of congress to get a cookie cake at my wedding, so good call on stowing the X360 pants.

The only thing this wedding needed was some 8-Bit wine (www.8bitvintners.com).

It's amazing, but all I can think when I look at her 'bouquet' is that it looks like fruit roll-ups and I want to eat it.
