It Was a Movie: Double Dragon

Mikeminotti-biopic

A friend and I spent years watching bad video-game movies together; I've seen almost all of them. Double Dragon is one of my favorites. The scale of the film was so much bigger than anything I could've imagined. I'm baffled that anyone would spend so much money on a movie based on a beat-'em-up with about as much plot as a Nick Jr. show.

The movie has a jet ski chase scene and a mutant with a heart of gold, which means it has just about everything. Seriously, what's it missing? Oh, how about the Chairman from Iron Chef America? He plays Jimmy. Bam. I just blew your mind.

Just watch the trailer and tell me that this doesn't look like a must-see movie:

I saw that movie when they finally released it on VHS.Suffice to say as cheesy as that entire movie was,my brothers and I enjoyed.Besides,me and twin bro use to pretend to be Billy and Jimmy Lee back when the cartoon came out :P.

WOW! Didn't you hear the epic sounding but ultimately techno music? Just like Mortal Kombat! And the fight scenes look amazingly well choreographed & such! Also, ROBERT PATRICK! He was great in Terminator 2, I didn't even know he'd done movies since... I wonder why I've never heard of any... This movie, like the TMNT live action flicks and Surf Ninjas, are among my childhood favorites. You got to see fighting and hear about the ancient races who had amazingly powerful magic, but are no longer in existence (just like they Mayans, who predicted the end of the world in 2012, but didn't see the Conquistadors on their doorstep). Awesome trailer though.

The main villain doesn't seem very...badass.

Dude you were not kidding about this film having everything... I think I even saw the ecto-1 in there somewhere... @Antonio Haha that's not fair the Mayan calendar just stops in 2012... It is only more or less assumed that they predicted the world would end at that time... @Ben The dude had to leave bleach in his hair for at least 5-6 minutes... how much more bad ass can you get?

@Evan I'm Jeff man... Antonio was above me. And you're right, plus it proves how little people research things before they let Roland Emmerich make a movie aobut it.

That was one truly epic trailer! Oh sure, anyone could have "Carmina Burana", but the techno remix? Not many movies have the testicular fortitude to pull that off.
