Isn't heck just a replacement for a curse word? What's the difference between replacements and the actual word? I was always curious about that.

DSLs. You have a dedicated line to your house, but you are still sharing the main line going out of your ISP's datacenter with all of their other local subscribers.

Cable: There's a shared line to your house, but for a Docsis 2 modem, that shared line is 45-60megabits. You may only get 8-15 megabits of that 54. If you had 4 people in your area all maxing out 15 megabits, then you might have a problem. The problem here is that just like the DSL, you're sharing the line out of their data center with EVERYONE who is a subscriber to that company. The main line from the ISP is probably a bigger bottleneck in most cases than the shared local line.

Docsis 3 should have significantly more bandwidth per local area. Up to around 200mbit downstream.

When it comes to swearing I always go to a man who is more eloquent than pretty much anyone. Stephen Fry.

I think I owe you guys one.

I recently picked up a cheap copy of Oblivion and was wondering why the enemies were so quickly becoming such a pain in the ass to fight.

Before I listened to this, I was seriously thinking that I must really need to just grind the shit out of my character.

Now, inspired by the podcast, I've done something I very rarely do: I lowered the damn difficulty level.

And, I think I might finally be able to enjoy the game.

Suck it, Oblivion monsters!
