MobcastIt's an EGM-heavy podcast this week, as four ex-EGMers talk a lot of memories. But we also bring in the visiting Derek Lavigne, who spearheaded the Bitmob community podcast, Pixel Revolt. Finally, thanks to listener PJ Sngalang for the excellent community topic!

This week's Mobcast comes with a hefty dose of EGM. Former EGM staffers Crispin Boyer and Mike Cruz join Dan "Shoe" Hsu and Demian Linn as they compare gaming notes with Bitmob community podcaster Derek Lavigne (Pixel Revolt). Topics this week include favorite and worst EGM moments and reviews, favorite multiplayer gaming memories, and deciding which game to zap back to your 10-year-old self. Intrigued? Give it a listen.

Of course about four hours later I finally remembered the name of the tank game I was talking about playing years ago at college - Spectre. It was amazing at the time! Shit now though.

I realize something as well. That comments from podcast do not show up under the quick view box. In case any one cares of course.

This was a very funny podcast.....which brings up the topic of me laughing in public for no apparent reason and getting odds looks for co-workers....

Good episode, but your sounds levels are out of wack, whenever everyone laughs it is like an explosion in my head but Crispin and Damian are hard to hear. Anyhoo, not complaining I understand you didn't have the Lord of Podcasting Hosts to produce.

The content of the episode was great - it had me laughing out loud at many parts, especially Shoe's Asian/Chinese comments. But I've gotta agree on the sound issues. I know it's a limitation of recording multiple people in one spot, as opposed to via conference call/Skype/etc, but there's way too much variance in volume between different people talking. It's been a problem for me since the Mobcast started - even with iTunes boosting the volume thanks to Sound Levels being enabled, it's still far and away the quietest podcast I listen to. The quieter parts I can't hear clearly even at full volume on my car (I usually listen to podcasts while driving via iPod + FM Transmitter), which means I can really only listen to it at home.

Demian's levels are always too low.

Crispin, no Game.com Batman? I was hoping you'd bring it back...

It got the black-and-greenish ring of death. I'm getting it souped up, though.

@Thomas - The best thing about Demian's low levels is that all of a sudden the podcast goes quiet, and then there is a lot of laughter: that's how you know Demian just spoke!

I couldn't listen to this. The sound levels are laughably bad, no offense. Some of the staff, shoe in particular, are a barely audible whisper, then everybody will explode in laughter and it's 20 times louder than anything else. I can't sit here at work with my hand on the volume knob. Extremely annoying. Please fix in future 'casts.

To the everyone mentioning the audio levels, as Shoe said at the beginning of the podcast, with no Robert Ashley there it was literally us 5 dudes huddled around one mic. Any closer and it may have become inappropriate 8) I know the guys are trying, so hang in there.

I haven't listened to this one yet, but after going through the past 10 episodes of the Mobcast, I've got one burning question to ask: Who the hell keeps farting in the podcasts? I don't mind it, but after listening to Rebel FM for so long, I've become used to the perpetrator stepping forward and admitting guilt. I demand that this gas master comes forth and reveals himself. >:(

Sound didn't sound horrible to me. Sure, the levels could have been better, but it's not like this is the latest Black Eyed Peas cutting-edge soundmix masterpiece... Here we tune in for the content. ;)
