Being HR9 is not the fun I thought it was going to be. It would be a totally different story if I actually had some friends to go on hunts with, but alas, I am forced to to continue soloing every quest I undertake in Unite. This week, I decided to complete a couple of the quests available via the games download service. By the way, if you haven't downloaded the new bonus armor for your felynes and are a fan of cats in samurai gear, do it now.
The first quests I did, Triumvirate of the Sands (Daimyo Hermitaur, Tigrex and Plesioth) was only a five star quests and made easier by having to fight three monsters who all share the same elemental weakness, thunder. My shiny new Wailing Cleaver Shin made short work of the lot of them, to be sure. Baby Boom! Flocking to Sleep was ust another multiple Hypnoc quest. Nothing special there. Expunge the Funk!, on the other hand, was nightmare. I already expressed my hatred of the Emerald Congalala a few weeks ago, and fighting it alongside another Conga was not my idea of fun at all.

I wont lie, either my lack of patience, carelessness or the fact that I had to leave for work made this battle even worse and I ended up dying twice. I killed the Emerald first, to make things "easier" and barely edged out it's pink furred friend.
Aside from finishing the DL quests, I decided to try and take on my first HR9 Kirin. If you ever thought Kirin was a pain in the ass, just try fighting him in the wide open tower. Most of the battle consisted of me chasing him down as he sprinted from one end of the zone to the other.

And because I failed to do my homework on Kirin'n new moves, I was taken by surprise by his new "electric rush" attack and found myself dead within seconds.

Finally, I decided it would be a better idea to wait for openings and proud stances rather than chasing Kirin around and frustrating myself.

I also, soloed my fifth Crimson Fatalis. Although I wasn't able to get all my carves since his head decided to phase through the side of a cliff.

I've always enjoyed battling Teostra and need to take him out one more time to finish all my HR6 quest.
Whew. That's about it for Monster Hunter this week. I've actually had reason to brush the dust off of my Wii this weekeend with the release of Wii Sports Resort.

I haven't had this much genuine fun in a long time. My fiancee and I haven't played a game together in months and Resort remedied that quite quickly, Sword fighting is definitely my favorite so far, with archery at a close second. I seriously recommend this to anyone who owns a Wii.
That's all for now kids, until next time!
