I think piracy wouldn't be nearly as big an issue if we didn't call people who stole games "pirates." It's way too cool of a label. Maybe there'd be less of them we called them stinky-stealers.
News Blips:
Halo: Reach pirates will get permanent Xbox Live bans. Halo: Reach has been leaked, but downloading a free, early copy could prove costly. Micrsoft has announced that they will permanently ban anyone who plays an unauthorized version of Halo: Reach from Xbox Live. Hey, it's not like the game's September 14 launch is that that far away. A pirate's life for Wii! Sid Meier's Pirates coming to the Wii on October 5. Let's take a moment to admire how creative that opening sentence was. OK. Pirates! -- the exclamation mark is important -- was a fun pirate simulator (I'm going to call that a genre now) for the PC. I'm interested to see if this new version for the Wii can be as charming and fun. [Joystiq]
Go witch hunting in the final Dragon Age: Origins DLC. Dragon Age: Origins will tie up its last loose-ends with Witch Hunt, a downloadable expansion set to be released on September 7 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The witch in question is Morrigan, the games popular and sexy spellcaster. The DLC will set you back $7. [Kotaku]
Rock Band 3's setlist is now super official. Every song was accidentally revealed last week, and Harmonix responded with a humorous video where they denied that the setlist was official... while the setlist in question was clearly visible behind them. Now the setlist -- with all 83 songs -- is officially official. I think my favorite song in the game is Foreigner's "Cold As Ice." [1UP]
