News Blips: Wii Miis on 3DS?, EA World Cup Prediction, Paying for an Industry Job, and More

If Miis end up on the Nintendo 3DS, maybe one day I'll finally be able to play as a brown-skinned Pokémon trainer who looks like me!

News Blips:

Nintendo suggets that the Wii's Miis could show up on other systems (like the 3DS). When IGN asked Nintendo guru Shigeru Miyamoto about transferring Mii characters from the Wii to the 3DS, he replied that "we need to keep in mind how we evolve the Miis and how we think about compatibility with Miis between different systems. But that's something that we're definitely giving consideration to and want to continue to try to allow people to use their Miis on different Nintendo systems going forward." I'm definitely excited about the idea of breathing new life into my Mii Jesus, Hitler, and Admiral Ackbar.

EA's World Cup championship prediction via 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa is one step closer to coming true. EA's tournament simulation predicted Spain as this year's champion, and that team reached the final by beating Germany today in the semis. The game picked Spain beating Brazil, though, and not the Netherlands, the other team in the final. I wonder if this video game can also determine if soccer fans will riot after the match? A Brooklyn-based "illustrator/animator/designer" named True is offering a thousand dollars to anyone who can help land him a gig in the video-game industry. Despite claiming four-plus years of experience in the game industry already, True says that "experience is no longer enough" and that he's looking for someone already working at a developer or publisher. Well, if this doesn't work out for him -- and he's truly that desperate -- he could always try an unpaid internship.... [Craigslist via UGO]

3D Eye Solutions plans to bring 3D graphics to the iPad. The company claims that their new "2D to 3D conversion technology" supports the apps currently available on Apple's portable platform. They tease that with their product, "IPad users can browse the web, read/send e-mail, enjoy and share photos, watch HD videos, play games, read e-books, and much more in 3D." Ugh, that just sounds excessive and headache-inducing. [Industry Gamers]
