The Japanese role-playing genre is known for being a bit...formulaic. That said, it's not surprising that Game Informer was able to create a flowchart that neatly applies to every JRPG ever made...and probably all of the ones yet to be made [GamingBolt via Geekologie]:

Maaaan.  I thought about posting this, but didn't because I was worried about copyright or whatever.

Still, this is rather good and it reminded me of about a dozen jRPGs.
