What game are you most looking forward to in 2011 and why?

Via Facebook:

Jonathan Krukoff: Hopefully there's a new Sonic game in celebration of Sonic's 20th anniversary! Although I still have to get Sonic Colors....

Edgar Mena: Star Wars: The Old Republic. With Bioware in charge, it'll more than make up for atrocities to the canon like Han shooting second and Jar Jar Binks.

Evian Machore: That's a tough one. It's the year of Nintendo 3DS for me, and there's quite a bit to choose from. I suppose I'll have to settle for Resident Evil: Revelations. The footage I've seen is top notch, and I'm interested in checking out the locations that have been shown so far.

Via Twitter:

@feitclub (Daniel Feit): I've got a lot to look forward to in 2011, but my top pick is El Shaddai. The art style has captivated me.

@SurielVazquez: Bastion. Great visuals with what looks like a delicate cross between action and RPG elements.

@ADewiM (Alex Martin): Catherine is the most interesting game, but Mass Effect 3 is the surer shot. So long as Bioware doesn't use the Terminator again. Oh, I forgot about L.A. Noire. I retract my previous answer.

@demian_linn: Portal 2 -- for some of the best narrative/writing and puzzle-solving in gaming. Runners up: ME3, Dragon Age 2, Uncharted 3.

@omripetitte: Mass Effect 3, for sure. It has such a sublime science-fiction story, and I'm eager to see the conclusion.

@mriceguy (Michael Gray): Portal 2. More Portal, what's not to love? Gel abilities look like fun, and I'm keen to try out the co-op.

@bbretterson (Brett Bates): Hands down, L.A. Noire. It sounds like the game I've been dreaming up in my head for years now.

@CHoadley (Chris Hoadley): Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Between the convention demos, fight clubs, streams, and previews it's like everyone has played it except me.

@WinWinIrwin (Jon Irwin): That crazy-looking augmented reality Target Shooting game for 3DS...the future is now! I mean, the future is in March. (Hmm, that's true, actually.)

@AlanRappa (Alan Rappaport) Uncharted 3 for blockbuster movie moments, Gears of War 3 for multiplayer carnage, Portal 2 for the puzzles, and Valkyria Chronicles 3 FTW!

@bitmobshoe (Dan Hsu): Gears of War 3. Can't wait for Beast Mode! Also: Uncharted 3's first-look video's got me very excited....

@palfrei (Peter Palfrei): Mass Effect 3.

@ImTimmyB (Tim Breidenstein): The game I'm most looking forward to is Mass Effect 3. I love the Mass Effect series and can't wait to see how it wraps up.

@Eric_from_Maine: Dead Space 2. I hope they didn't take away the scary quality that only had some gamers playing the first one in short sessions.

@brianruhlman: The third game in the epic Mass Effect trilogy. Bioware is at the forefront of the RPG world this generation. Dragon Age is a close second.

@robidoo: Mass Effect 3, hands down. Mass Effect continues to be one of my favorite series -- the second game improved on the first, and I hope 3 just gets better.

@nickmichetti: Mass Effect 3. I can't wait to see how Shepard's quest to save the galaxy is going to end!

@Morinar (Nick Seegmiller): The Old Republic. I really want/need an MMO that will have long-term staying power. Seems to be the first in a while that will.

@Stephano_N: Resistance 3, if nothing more than the fact that this is probably the make or break title for the franchise. Cross your fingers!

@MikersMikers: Tie between Uncharted 3 and Mass Effect 3.

@acronkyoung: The Last Guardian. Duh.

@chase_koeneke (Zack Koeneke): Portal 2. The first was so clever and interesting. It'll be a real test to see if the cake is funnier the second time around.

@ibitjuan Rocksteady's sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum. The Batman video game concept is solid, and no lousy Robin to spoil it.

@spencerattack (Spencer Atkinson): I'm most looking forward to new IP at low cost via the just-introduced Mac App Store.

@SpiltMilkStudio (Andrew John Smith): Child of Eden -- a proper sequel to Rez, a new masterpiece from Mizuguchi-san, and something truly uplifting all in one game!

I don't expect it to be succesful, but the focus (civillian-level characters, and using the FPS to explore a world, rather than shoot in it) of Homefront looks interesting. I've just heard too many underwhelmed previews.
