All of these trailers from the Tokyo Game Show seem to focus on monsters and the occult, which is fine by me. I don't mind getting into the Halloween spirit a month early.

Video Blips:

DMC is Capcom's attempt to reboot the Devil May Cry series by putting a strapping young monster hunter named "Dante" in a contemporary setting. I hear they originally wanted to call it Devil May Cry: Modern Warfare.

Continue after the break for the ridiculously awesome (or awesomely ridiculous) Asura's Wrath, the trailer for the Suda 51 (No More Heroes) and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil 4) collaboration Shadows of the Damned, a teaser for a no-brainer Dead Rising 2 crossover, and a look at Alice: Madness Returns

• I've seen some over the top video-game trailers, but Asura's Wrath takes things to a whole new level. Nevermind that the hero fights with a ridiculous number of puncture wounds: let's talk about the larger-than-Earth Hindu deity who assaults the guy with its country-sized finger.

• I focused on the actual shadows in this Shadows of the Damned trailer, and they didn't seem to play a prominent role compared to all the demon slaying. Maybe I'm missing something, and none of the creatures in this video are particularly damned.

• Original protagonist Frank West helps out Dead Rising 2's new guy, Chuck Greene, and teaches him a few pointers in Dead Rising 2: Case West. For starters: How to efficiently fight zombies while wearing a Mega Man costume.

• Alice: Madness Returns appears to send our young heroine back through the looking-glass. Or, if you subscribe to the theory that this is all a drug-induced experience, consider this an unexpected LSD flashback for Alice.
