Bitmob Founders Have Their Geek Cred Questioned

Editor's note: I suppose it's better than having our manhood questioned! -Shoe

At this past Wondercon, I walked the show floor asking convention goers video game and Star Wars-based trivia questions in order to find out just how nerdy these self-proclaimed geeks really are. Luckily, Bitmob's very own Dan "Shoe" Hsu and Demian Linn were awesome enough to let me question them to see just how high their geek flags fly.

Check out how well they did, and let me know in the comments just how well you would've done.

I didn't want to pick the video game category, because the only way I'd come out looking OK there is to get them 100% right. But I think I would've done well in it!

The answer is not well.

The song at the beginning...what is it?

I lose the most nerd cred of all, though, since I've never seen Star Wars at an age where I could remember it.

I only got the prince of persia and password ones right from the videogame questions... and a few star wars q's.

Also... that one dude was totally wearing a Goonies T-shirt.

I only missed two: the cantina (whose name I've already forgotten) and Roman, the villain from Uncharted.

I loved this. More, please!

Some people like Star Wars a little too much. Who would know the name of the Cantinna?

Thumbs up to the guy with the Green Ranger shirt and the Rebel Alliance tattoo.

@Shoe: Dude, that Bitmob tee is absolutely the most  ghetto-looking game-site T-shirt ever. Pure Goodwill store material. Bitmob's apparel line needs some serious improvement! -- Just kidding , sort of ; )

On a non-apparel related note, the guy that actually knew the name of that cantina at Mos Eisley is crazy.

Hey, I noticed Jason Reitman's brother in there! (Inside joke, sorry.)

@Roberto: A Bitmob fan made that for me! Bet you feel shitty now, huh?

@Shoe: So you're going to play the "guilt game" now, Shoe? Ok, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt then and take back my shallow, material boy comment, but you should know better that you can't be your own fan -- and that Raychul and the Bitmob staff don't count as legit fans either x D

Haha, none of the above! A real community member. :)  Tom Heistuman made it for me. And it's a cool-ass shirt, too!

@Roberto So you are saying, you would buy one of those shirts?

@Shoe: Ok, now I do feel shitty : (   And yes, the fact that a community member made you a Bitmob tee is really, really cool : )

@Rich: Entrepreneurial thinking, huh? I like that! What if, hypothetically, not only me, but a whole bunch of Bitmob members were interested in getting one as well?

"Make them, and they will buy."
