Bitmob Wants You: To Write about First-Person Shooters

First-person shooters are everywhere. Just looking at the list of playable demos at this year's E3 reveals an industry-wide obsession with developing the latest and greatest -- and hopefully stable -- franchise. While most are gunning for the Modern Warfare throne, others take a more creative route by melding elements from role-playing games and platformers -- and sometimes delivered full-fledged representatives of each genre.

With all the hype and history of the genre, we want to know what the Bitmob Community thinks about FPSes. Are they just a phase hanging over from the success of Doom and Half-Life over a decade ago, or are they constantly evolving entity in the industry? Do you like shooters, or do you hate them with an undying passion? Tell us all about it.

To join in, follow these simple instructions:

1) Write any article tackling the subject of first-person shooters. Keep it concise -- about 200-400 words should do it. You can write longer if you choose.

2) Use the following tag: "First-Person Shooter" -- but do tag the other games you mention!

3) Submit your article to the Mobfeed by Friday, July 16.

Note: These pieces are also up for consideration for the October issue of GamePro.

YES.

Damn right, yes!

Oh YEAH!

Um... Aye aye!

I just wanted to clarify on the deadline—does July 16 mean by midnight on July 16?? My computer just died, so it'll be pretty down-to-the-wire for me ><;; I'm excited to write out the article ideas I have though. Can we only submit one article, or are multiple entries OK? (provided I can get them in on time, hahah) Thanks.
