It came from eBay: Empty N64 boxes

Collecting cartridges is a frustrating practice. Finding any game with complete packaging is nearly impossible, especially if it originally came in a cardboard box.

This eBay seller has four lots full of Nintendo 64 boxes. Each one contains some empty packaging and maybe a few inserts. If you're a completionist, you should check the auction out, unless $100 to $200 per lot scares you away.

My biggest concern is that the boxes look sun faded. Maybe it's just a camera flash that makes them look that way, but I'd think twice before bidding on these expensive auctions.

I agree, they do look potentially faded which is a common fate for display boxes in rental/retail outlets.

But man, I sure want that cardboard box to Hexen 64!

Probably really weird to say this.

But to me the smell of a freshly opened N64 game is like time travel to me. I just love that smell.

I still have some of my boxes of N64 and SNES. I can't believe I still have them. But wait, what the hell? Where is the instruction manual? Why do they disappear?  Maybe it's in my Game Genie case...

-Hexen 64 is badass.

Wait, people will pay $100 to $200 for game boxes? I have a ton of these sitting in my basement right now! (Some still have the shrinkwrap -- only carefully cut away so you can open the package.)

This seller must be fond of Mario Party 2 and 3...

I'm getting some ideas...sell all my N64 boxes on one separate auction, and the instruction manuals on another.  Oh, and MAYBE sell off the cartridges, but who wants the actual game when you can just have the box? ;)
