An open world game in SPACE is what I'm waiting for.  Perfect universe for something like that would be Star Wars, in my opinion.

Hmm, let's see: The topic is "Multi-player Memories," and the speaker is Dan Hsu.  I wonder what he'll be talking about... :)

I like the idea of podcasting, and there is a place for laid-back discussion, but I'd prefer a shorter and focused podcast. Perhaps you can use the same laid-back format, but have two versions. One that is edited down to 5-10 minutes, and the other is full-length?

Dan even mentioned in this podcast that he doesn't have an hour to listen.

I enjoy listening to podcasts while on my daily walks and waiting for classes or appointments, but that's just me. Especially since Mobcast and Talkradar average an hour, they give me a sense of progression while on a walk as opposed to my usual music.

Anyways, it came to me for a new open-world environment: the Stone Age or otherwise primitive civilization, and maybe exaggerated a bit for humor or fun. Imagine playing a cave man, a self-contained story based on living on the edge of the age of modern civilization, surviving romanticized misadventures like an erupting volcano or hunting dinosaurs (I said romanticized, didn't I?) building up to being able to kill a tyrannosaurus rex.

Make some interesting weapons like different bows, spears, and slings. Maybe define good melee combat mechanics since cave men were most known for clubs. And finally have some far out level design like lush jungles, temperate forests, and the obligatory dry wasteland aka the desert level.

Rockstar, get on it.

Nice podcast guys!

Crap. Thanks for the spoiler. I planned on watching that movie sometime this summer.

But yes, space-sandbox gaem plz. Preferably with the option to get into a space battle here and there.

Sorry Jose, but I figured that the statute of limitations on spoilers had passed. The movie wasn't very good so you're not missing much. You should actually thank me!

When Dan mentioned the Russell Crowe western, I thought he was referring to Sam Raimi's The Quick & The Dead. I'm in two minds about whether or not it'd make a good game. I think "not" is the safe bet.

On the movie tip, for years I've been blathering on about wanting an Escape from New York MMO, but an open world game based in that universe would certainly deliver the ass-kickery, too.

Oh, and to Mr Thomas: saying that the point of Moon is making clones is like saying Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is about some dude chasing some robots.
