Do you live with or near old people? If so, shove a controller into their hands, boot up Modern Warfare 2, and begin educating them.

Fox News recently reported that "team of researchers from the Netherlands" have found a link between violent games and higher cognitive capacities.

It seems shoot-to-kill video games have a positive effect on the mental flexibility, concentration, and response times in infants and the elderly. The research team went on to suggest that nursing homes should begin employing the use of gaming consoles to help their patients.

"If elderly people had a lot of problems with their thinking they could play video games to improve their minds,"  claimed Dr. Lorenza Colzato, assistant professor of psychology at Leiden University.

It looks like you won't have to worry about foul-mouthed teens on Xbox Live anymore because you'll be too busy watching out for grandma [Fox News via The Kartel]!

Even if the integrity of this story is questionable because it's from Fox News, it's good to see them say something about violent games that's not too negative.

Although I do have to ask what it means by "shoot-to-kill video games have a positive effect on the mental flexibility, concentration, and response times in INFANTS and the elderly." When was the last time you've seen a baby play a first-person shooter?
