A countdown clock suggests Activision could announce a new Call of Duty within the week. Website FindMakarov.com has popped up with a distinctive Modern Warfare style. If this isn't a hoax, then expect Activision and Infinity Ward to announce Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on Tuesday, March 1. The website refers to Vladimir Makarov, who was the main villain in Modern Warfare 2 -- most notable for leading the infamous "No Russian" terrorism scene -- before the protagonists discovered that they were betrayed by their own General. Makarov escaped at the end of the game, leaving open the door for the story to continue in a sequel. It isn't a secret that a Call of Duty is coming this year, and with Battlefield 3 drawing more headlines, Activision probably hopes that MW3 will rain on EA's parade.

Rockstar gives up the details on L.A. Noire pre-order bonuses. The characters in the latest game from the Grand Theft Auto developer are some pretty classy cats, and their pre-order incentives are equally classy. Instead of the usual "special flaming sword of doom" that you would typically get for throwing down money early, these items are more sartorial in nature. The suits will all provide different advantages depending on where you buy them. In addition to the happening clothes, unique missions will be included as well. Australia denies latest Mortal Kombat a rating classification, effectively banning it from the continent. Australia's government has a long history of being tough on mature games. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has said in a press release that "there is an audience for mature gaming content and it would make more sense to have the R18+ classification in Australia. As a member of the iGEA, WBIE is reviewing all options available at this time." The iGEA and R18+ are the ESRB and M-rating equivalents, respectively. Reviewing all options means that they hope to get the ruling overturned, which is still possible. I just hope that WBIE's lawyers know that threatening the judge with a fatality isn't the proper way to file an appeal.
