Callum's been playing games for as long as he can remember (which is quite far!). When asked how the heck he was going to make a living for himself, he took up writing about games and hasn't looked back. Now he spends every moment he can buried in his word processor, crankin' out stuff (or so he'd like to believe). He also does work as a proof-reader in his spare time.

Where most games rely on bombastic, sweeping scores, Demon's Souls does the opposite across the board to fantastic effect.

SpaceChem is exactly what puzzle games should be: reliant on players' creativity.
We need to start professing gaming's artistic merit through intelligent introspective and be critics for once.

Creating a strong, memorable intro is no easy feat. Yet Valve managed to do so effortlessly with 2004's Half-Life 2, and without the use of of cutscenes. Here's how.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword puts a fresh, motion-controlled spin on the series’ tried-and-true gameplay.

"Know how you feel. Still live with my family, so my siblings and I all got to experience Skyrim together. For a good month there it was all we talked about. Think we spent just as much time talking about it as we did playing it. Definitely made things more fun. I don't think I would have had as great a time with Skyrim if I didn't have anyone to share stories and experiences with."

"This is great. Hope they do more.

I love how Chell remains mostly nonplused throughout."

"Yeah, someone else was telling me the same thing recently. Definitely unfortunate. Probably a result of getting a different composer for Dark Souls. The increase in massive and/or agile bosses might have played a role as well. Hard to keep up the understated tone when the enemies are better suited for bigger, louder music."

"No, thank you, Bitmob. Learned a lot from reading and contributing here. Feel like I've actually improved because of it. One of the few sites to actually give us amatuers a chance. Not something you see in this industry.

As for the giveaway, I don't have an Xbox so... I'll go for number 3, PS3 game preferred."

"Into the Pixel was cool. Just wish I'd stuck around the exhibit more. Was only able to get a quick look at it because I had places to be. Would have loved to take it in more, maybe chat with some of the organizers. Perhaps next year (assuming I'm able to attend again)."

"Interesting idea. I don't think I could handle playing it (I tend to lose sleep after anything horor themed), but it's a briliant premise. Hope it turns out well for them."

"I think they made the Meat Circus level easier in the Steam version when that launched. Or, that's what the press release said, anyway. No idea if they were being serious."

"Should be fun writing about the show since I'm attending this year. Just wish I was bringing a computer along. Would be so much easier to write that way."

"I just shortened my name to make my Internet handle. Saved me the trouble of having to come up with something new and different.

Still, these are good tips."

"Same here. That game is really something."

"I've got plenty of games sitting around on my Steam account that I haven't even touched yet (damn indie bundles and their absurdly good deals). Was thinking of making some sort of regular feature out of it to make it more fun. And now this comes up. Perfect timing!"

"Oh, I know what you mean. He's definitely got influence. I just think he isn't worth our time. I think he's just trolling us at this point, actually. He knows we hate it when he says games aren't art, so he has to be continuing to write about only because he enjoys getting a rise out of us. If he actually played a game, then his comments would be worth arguing against, since he would be drawing from actual experience."
