A lot of news keeps creeping out of Germany thanks to Gamescom. Try to keep up with me.
News Blips:
Resistance 3 is still resisting after all these years. Insomniac announced at Gamescom that their first-person shooter series returns to the PlayStation 3 next year. They didn't show off any gameplay or offer many details, instead showing this live-action trailer. People fight monsters in it, so we can assume you'll still shoot things. [Kotaku]
Ratchet & Clank adds two more. Insomniac wasn't done, announcing that their other big franchise -- Ratchet & Clank -- is also returning to the PS3 in 2011 with a new, four-player co-op adventure, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. The other two characters are fan-favorites Captain Qwark and Dr. Nefarious. [Joystiq]
Mass Effect 2 lands on the PS3. BioWare's critically acclaimed role-playing game hits the PS3 in January 2011. The game was previously an Xbox 360 and PC exclusive. One of Mass Effect 2's biggest features is carrying over choices from the player's Mass Effect save. It'll be interesting to see how BioWare handles this for the PS3, since the first Mass Effect was never released for that system. [1UP.com]
Dragon Age 2 unleashes its fury in March. BioWare also announced that the sequel to Dragon Age: Origins would appear for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on March 8. That's less than a year and a half since the first game's release. [1UP.com]
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm feels special with a Collector's Edition. Blizzard is known for offering attractively packaged special editions for all of their big releases, and Cataclysm will be no different. The Collector's Edition should set you back $80 and comes with an artbook, a behind-the-scenes DVD, the game's soundtrack, an exclusive in-game pet, World of Warcraft Trading Card Game cards, and a mouse pad. Wait, who has a mouse pad anymore? [Kotaku]
