Today on twitter while I was at work @HotheadGames put up a link to there site about Penny Arcade. When I read the words that the series will not continue on in game format I was crushed. Many of you may have over looked this game due to the price tag. I was one of the gamers on day one who had to play it. While playing this game it did several things for me and I will share those with you.
After the playing the first game for awhile I was hooked in the story and waited patiently for what was coming next. This first episode the story might have been off key, but it hit all the right tones. Design, creativity and just sure bliss in my eyes. The things that I thought they did was bring back old school genre's in a new approach with the first game which made me giddy inside.
Months went by and still no recent news was done so I stepped up and did an interview with Hothead games that was posted on 2Old2Play. Now many of us who follow certain games do stuff like this all the time. I even tried to do papercraft and I failed at it, but I still tried it.
Once episode 2 came out I I was greeting with my character from episode 1. He was ready for battle after some new dud's and a hair style change. With this aspect being inserted to the game, it drew me into the story more as it was my personal character who was with Tyco and Gabe on a Mission. Facing enemies and solving puzzles just felt better for me because I felt my character was a key person in this story line now. Even with all the old and new areas to go to there was just something about this world they created where I had to keep going back to have fun.
So after today there won't be an episode three where my personal character they let me create will go on. The story will be finished by another means which to me is kind of a sad moment. This game series in my eyes paved the way for other games to come back like Monkey Island and any other one they will make. The love is there and even though this was a new IP. I just hope that everyone can and will experience this game and enjoy it.

Enjoyed the first PA game but the 2nd was more of the same and as far as I was concerned, that wasn't necessarily a good thing. I definitely won't miss a 3rd installment.
I bought the two games and had a decent time up until I stopped playing the second one halfway through because other games came out. Very good humor and fun gameplay so I'm sad to see the series die prematurely. I would have finished the second and bought the third if it came out.
