Dead Rising had a few inexcusable problems that kept me from ever finishing it. With all the good press surrounding Dead Rising 2, I was sure Capcom had addressed the agonizing clock, the battles with humans, and the main character's loping gate. They haven't. Ned doesn't hate Dead Rising 2 but, like me, wishes it was more than just a beefed-up version of the first game.
Death Needn't Be Taxing

Alex picked up Halo: Reach, Brutal Legend, and Dead Space for his birthday. While tackling all three, he found that each game approached death differently. While I will always maintain that the ease with which you can die in Halo games has soured me on the entire series, the game is clearly doing something right, as Alex points out.

Episodic Gaming Works

Chris tends to play games in short bursts. Episodic formats call to him because he isn't challenged to play through everything in one sitting, and has a natural stopping point from one event to the next. More games could definitely benefit from adopting an episodic style similar to Alan Wake.
