In Child of Eden, a young, cute girl in a spaghetti-strap top periodically pops up on screen. I have a hunch that this will make for some awkward moments between gamers and their nearby non-gamer loved ones.

Video Blips:

• To control Child of Eden for Kinect, you use your right hand for a lock-on attack and your left for rapid-fire. For added difficulty, play while wearing five-pound wrist weights.

Continue after the break for a developer diary on the world of Hunted: The Demon’s Forge, the launch trailer for Thor: God of Thunder, and a preview of the silly zombie-defense game Dead Block.

• The developers for Hunted: The Demon's Forge have put a lot of effort into the design of the game's world. So would it kill you to stop and look around every now and then instead of just getting tunnel vision for the next in-game objective?

• If you've got a hankering for some hammering, Thor just might be the perfect video game for you. Otherwise, you might want to look into taking a carpentry class at the local adult school.

• In Dead Block, players must defend a house from invading zombies by setting up all kinds of comical traps. I like to think of it as a spiritual successor to the Home Alone games from the early 1990s.
