Video Blips: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, L.A. Noire, Aliens: Colonial Marines, and more

As an avid reader of William Gibson and Philip K. Dick, I've always been bummed at the lack of cyberpunk in video games. Thankfully, Deus Ex: Human Revolution heard my prayers. Here’s hoping this game starts a cyberpunk trend.

Video Blips:

• The release of Deus Ex: Human Revolution is so close, yet it seems so far away. If you’re new to the genre and still on the fence about this game, go to your nearest bookstore and buy of a copy of Neuromancer. You can thank me after you’ve finished reading.

After the break, check out the Rockstar Pass bonus content for L.A. Noire, prepare to relive your childhood fears in Aliens: Colonial Marines, and have a look at the teaser for Metro: Last Light.

• L.A. Noire has been on shelves for a couple of weeks now, but that doesn’t mean Cole Phelps’s adventures are over. This Rockstar Pass is for people like me who can’t get enough of incorrectly guessing people’s facial expressions.

• If you’re a true nerd -- and your name isn’t Mike Minotti -- then you’re probably going to keep an eye on Aliens: Colonial Marines. It sounds like this Aliens game might be somewhat tied to the film. Please, Sega, don’t let us down; scare the living crap out of us.

• Metro: Last Light is a sequel to the popular and critically acclaimed Metro 2033. I can't say much about this teaser, other than it’s timed very, very well with the beat. Is this a shooter or a rhythm/music game?

The Internet should already know I'm 100 years old and let me watch mature videos in peace. Anyway, Metro 2033 was pretty good, so I'm looking forward to Last Light.

Me too! I just hope 4A Games polishes up the shooter mechanics to the same level as Metro 2033's storytelling.

Oddly enough, I've never heard of the Metro series. I'm suddnely intrigued.

It’s like a faster-paced Fallout, with more traditional FPS gameplay. Don’t go into it expecting a Halo or Call of Duty experience, though, or you’ll be disappointed. The moody, post-apocalyptic atmosphere is the main attraction, with bits of demon-hunting action sequences here and there.
