Video Blips: L.A. Noire gameplay, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 final boss, Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, and more

It's a good thing I'm not a character in L.A. Noire who players have to interrogate to see if I'm telling the truth. I'm a terrible liar.

Video Blips:

• No one ever said that playing as an ambitious detective in L.A. Noire was going to be easy. In fact, it almost sounds like work. I think I'd prefer to assume the role of a lazy, corrupt cop -- it'd take a lot less effort.

Continue after the break for a peek at the mighty Galactus in Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, a subtitled Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy trailer, and an overview of the Dead Space franchise.

• Everyone knows that Galactus (the "devourer of planets" and final boss in Marvel vs. Capcom 3) is a gigantic creature, but how big is he? Well, I hear that Galactus is so fat that every time he takes a step, he causes an earthquake. Anyone?

• Is anyone honestly surprised with the English translation of the Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy trailer? I wouldn't be surprised if Square Enix has a list of epic and whimsical words posted on a wall in their writers' offices for easy reference.

• EA is launching a new animated movie and graphic novel to promote the nightmarish Dead Space 2. I'm interested in these, but I'm also a wuss when it comes to survival-horror games and scary movies. Those two things typically don't mix well. [Joystiq]

While the interrogation stuff does look interesting, and the facial animations look pretty tight, but seeing the GTA mini-map made me a little dissapointed. I'm now fearing a bunch of "drive here get in a shootout" or "drive here and interrogate somebody"  missions.

Don't get me wrong I loved GTA IV and RDR, but I wouldn't mind seeing something new from Rockstar, not just a change of setting. Of course I say this and I'll probably be oozing with love for the game when I play it.

Wow, the production values in L.A. Noire are phenomenal! The detail in the character faces looked spot on with the voice acting. I'm really impressed that they can make such convincing facial animations. And since it factors into the witness interrogation gameplay, there's function behind the form.

Yeah, the facial animation is really impressive in L.A. Noire.

David, the video specifically mentions that Rockstar has (finally!) dumped the stupid, linear mission structure for a series of player-initiated investigations. It's about time goddamn time if you ask me!

(P.S. Did anyone else think the L.A. Noire preview felt like a high school science video because of the narration?)
