Waste a Work Day: Chat Room Meta Game

If there is one constant on the Internet, it is that if you have a chatroom, the douchebags will show up. While most of the time I've ignored the chat on the right hand side of Kongregate, now that several Bitmobbers have made Sumptuous Gentlemen's Brigade their default, I've started to participate in the chat with them.

Of course, that has lead to many entertaining confrontations. There was the "girl" that was in desperate need of attention, and decided to get it by listing all the animals she enjoys interacting with in a non-professional manner. And Shoe and Lance had some fun with a homophobe who just happened to be hitting on anyone and everyone he could find.

But last night I made a game out of it. I had written something about the game I was playing in the chat, and it was greeted with some homophobic slurs by some outstanding member of society known as "ZombieFawwker". Then another person piped in with the word, "ditto". Well, the game I was playing wasn't very fun, so I decided to mess with them.

"Ditto is a Pokemon" gets some surprisingly hostile responses. If you then follow up with all of your other favorite Pokemon, those responses increase in hostility. And once they have reached fever pitch, you just copy their slurs, and paste them right into a "report abuse" form. Lather, rinse, repeat. Go to sleep happy, wake up the next day with email notifications that they have been reprimanded. It is almost more fun then the flash game you are playing.

Most of us Bitmobbers have gathered in the chat room Sumptuous Gentlemen's Brigade. 1. The name amuses me, and 2. we need a default Bitmob chatroom. Come join us!

Be sure to check out Jeff Grubb's first annual George Costanza Classic this week and send your Frogger high scores to him.

Man, so many new people this time. I decided to add all of the rank changes to people before I added the new people. So even though people may have decreased their numerical spot on the list, it'll still say they climbed if they had passed people prior to the new additions.

You can find more of my writing on music, movies, and more -- as well as those of other contributors like Bitmob's own Chris "Cosmo" Ross, Chris Whitehead, and Ultan O'Connel -- at Cerebral Pop.

:o REA!!!!!
I know! She was ridiculous in the 3 or so days between WAWD posts! You better catch up.
Oof, spot number 24. I should fix that.
And now I remember what I forgot to do with the Bitmob Challenge...

Promote this. I need to keep a list or something.
I thought my +78 was impressive until I saw Jasmine....
God, I am not looking forward to taking this back on...

And what's with everyone jumping on board when Alex took on Waste a Work Day? I know he's much more good looking and non-Canadian and smells of fresh bread, but c'mon... Oh wait, that would do it, wouldn't it?
It's a shame Kong doesn't have a Group facility, isn't it? I've added a bunch of you, if you don't mind. :)
@Andrew - Technically they didn't jump on board. Jeff's high score challenges have been much more successful at making people sign up to Kongregate, and I just find their usernames from their.
