Art from:  sandrum

Creator of the long-running Mobile Suit Gundam series, delivered the keynote at Japan’s CEDEC 2009 game developers’ conference and offered a rather strong negative opinion on the subject of video games and how they affect our lives.  I honestly believe if he had been at the GDC in San Jose he would of been laughed off the stage.

I think that video games are evil.  [Gaming] is not a type of activity that provides any support to our daily lives, and all these consoles are just consuming electricity! Let's say we have about three billion people on this planet wasting their time, bringing no productivity at all. Add 10 billion more people, and what would happen to our planet? Video games are assisting the death of our planet!

Though he certainly doesn't seem to have a problem giving away his IP to make some awful games.

Yeah, why don't people do something constructive with their lives, like read about robots and buy robot toys?
