The PSP sold half what the DS did, but 76 million units means it was a smash hit, and I hate when people try and take that away from Sony. I'm glad you got your hands on one. There are so many amazing games for it. Some of my personal favorites are Resistance: Retribution, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Daxter, Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, Secret Agent Clank, The Third Birthday, both God of War games, both Syphon Filter games, Little Big Planet, and Crisis Core.
Ya know, if you buy a Vita, most of these games can be downloaded on it, and PSP games playing on the Vita look about 70 bajillion times better on the Vita. Gone are the muted colors, the constant blurring and color bleeding. On the Vita, PSP games look downright gorgeous, like how they were supposed to look. They look...dare I say...HD."
In other words, I've put well over 100 hours into it at this point, and I routinely go 5, maybe 8 or 10 hours without finding better weapons. Sure, I see a ton of weapons, but none of them better than what I am carrying. And when I do eventually find one better, it takes another 5-10 to find another. I literally went 9 hours on my first playthrough using the first assault rifle I found, because the game wouldn't drop better ones. It was dropping a ton of them, just none better.
And this is the same exact problem I had with the first. Where the fun in loot if I can't loot anything? Why am I having to pump 300 assault rifle rounds into a dudes face because the gun I am using is so weak when I should be dominating with a new, shiny assault rifle? My characer specializes in them, it would be nice to actually get to find some. And forget about finding shields. I actually took a video a few months ago about this problem. I captured me playing the game for 2 hours, and I plan on putting it on Youtube eventually.
In the video, you see me play the game, bouncing back and forth between story missions and side missions, exploring everything, opening every chest and porta-potty the game has to offer, but never finding anything better than what I've been using for, at the time, 6 and a half straight hours. It totally ruins the fun of the game."
The old games are just that, old. It's time for something new. It is time to admit what you already know. Stop trying to justify your hatred. Stop pretending to be mad about it. Just stop. It's time to accept what you already know. Old Dante was a loser. He was never good. Never funny. Never cool. Never anything other than lame.
The new Dante is exactly what this franchise needed, and the only people who disagree are the ones who are going to buy the game anyway."
You recognize these traits as A) A good thing and B) Done on purpose. In actuality, it is neither. It is grating, annoying, and beyond immature. It would never play to modern audiences. Nobody wants to watch a naked dude fight demons and eat pizza. Nobody wants to hear one-liners of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles caliber. Except, that is, the very small and vocal nut job fan base.
In order to appeal to today's violence hungry players, they had to go for a more mature route. Now I don't agree that the word "mature" should simply mean "more cursing", but like the article says, I would take this Dante any day of the week over the old one. He still has his personality, only now it doesn't suck and make me want to shoot myself. They toned him down in some areas, and beefed him up in others. He's what will sell, and that's all they should care about.
They don't care about what the small minority has to say. You can't please fanboys, so I don't blame them for not even trying. They could have made Dante the same exact Dante he always was, and fans would have complained about the gameplay instead, and created petitions to have it changed. Fanboys like to complain and pretend to be mad at changes in their favorite franchises, we all do it. Yet we all buy the game anyway, so no reason to waste your time or energy.
And one more thing. Did you seriously just create an account here simply so you can rant about an article and curse out its author? Are you really that lame? If lame had a scale, you'd break it."
The variety on display was awe inspiring. There was so much to see and do, and no one genre took the spotlight. Games like Ratchet & Clank on the PS2 weren't considered kiddie games, they were considered funny and intense action games. Nowadays if your game doesn't include shooting things in the face, you're not hardcore enough, and it's a damn shame. A damn, damn shame. I get so depressed when I think of all the great genres that gamers let die.
And sure, you can always find games in these genres, but not AAA ones, not the kind that people wait in line for 10 hours for, which is a shame, because publishers won't invest in them if they aren't going to knock it out of the park. Take the Ratchet & Clank Future series on the PS3. Two of the very best games ever made in my opinion. I have friends who still won't play it, because it ins't a realistic shooter. Yet they then turn around and complain about the lack of variety, and how all shooters are the same. And when I confront them with their stupid...ness...they brush it off like they aren't part of the problem.
And this is what it all boils down to. Gamers are the problem, not publishers. Gamers are responsible for this. A publisher is going to make what sells. That's their job. It is our job to vote with out wallets, and instead of supporting new, original and great IP on store shelves, we instead spend 500 million dollars in one day to buy another Call of Duty game. Where were these people when great, original shooters like Singularity and Metro 2033 were struggling? Where are these people when X-Com amazingly gets made, and then flops?
I'll tell you where they are, on hypocrite island, right next to their new copy of Blackops 2."
Welcome to the world of shit, population: Everyone who plays these terrible rip-offs. Free to Play games are the death of gaming. For every developer who makes an honest, great free-to-play game, a dozen other mean, scheming free to play games get dropped on to consumers. This whole genre is terrible, disgusting and insulting. They aren't free, they aren't designed to be fun, they are designed to drain you of as much money as humanly possible.
Remember when you used to just spend a dollar on an App in the app store and get everything? Wasn't that great? Suddenly people forgot about that, and for some crazy idiotic reason that I will never understand, these same people now think that because the game is free to download, having to spend a ton of money on micro transactions is fine...even though they used to be able to get these games for $1.
Free to play games are the most expensive games on the market. They are scams. They are schemes. They are hurtful. They are hurting the industry. This generation will be my last if free to play games get in the way of my traditional games in any way. If by next generation my favorite fracnhise start being changed to the manipulative "free" to play model, I will officially quit gaming for good. I've put up with a lot in this industry, but I will NOT stand for this shit. The moment I can no longer go into a store and buy a complete game for one flat price is the moment I put the controller down for good.
I hate very, very few things in this world as much as I hate this scam."
If we stop convicted criminals from being able to walk into a gun show, and walk out with assault weapons, we would have a safer world. If we banned assault rifles, people would have a much harder time getting their hands on one. If we treated people who commit these crimes, instead of locking them up in Crime Schools, also known as prisons, we might have an even safer world.
You need a person and a gun together to form that deadly mix. You can't have one without the other."
Corporations don't like Democrats. They just don't. Democrats are for the people, Republicans are for the wealthy and corporations. Microsoft is a corporation. It is in Microsoft's best interests if a Republican is elected president. Less taxes, less regulation, more freedom to do what they want. If a Democrat is in office, it is the opposite.
College students, and a majority of young voters, typically have been polled to vote Democrat. Republicans know this, hence their great efforts to limit voting for College students nation wide and minorities. Both groups typically vote for the left. Those groups, especially College students and young voters, are also overwhelmingly attracted to games, and a game like Halo 4 is the ultimate prize.
So, we have the dozens of new laws by the right side of the political circle to thwart college student votes and minorities votes. We have shortened early voting, a ban on voting on campuses, and strict ID laws. And then Microsoft comes in, and releases their biggest game on the day voting is to take place. Obviously their intent was to try and keep as many young voters home and away from the polls. They don't want us electing another Democrat, after all. It was a brilliant plan. Nobody would question them.
Halo 4 is a huge game, and November is a huge month for big games. Microsoft knew they wouldn't take heat for it, even though their plan almost certainly involved snubbing out as many young voters as they could. There was only one problem with their plan. We know better. We aren't stupid. And we elected the president for a second term. Seems young voters aren't so brain dead after all. If Halo 4 can't keep us away from the polls, nothing ca"

It must be something on my end then. It's odd though, considering I pretty much signed away the soul of my first born child to get the fastest speed Verizon Fios offers. I've never encountered something like this, but again, if nobody is experiencing it clearly it's on my end."
