Bitmob Giveaway: Super Street Fighter 4 FightSticks
Dan__shoe__hsu_-_square
Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Anyone who played Halo: Reach with us last Friday evening still has one more day to enter this screenshot-caption contest, but here's something for the rest of you.

Mad Catz wants to send two Bitmob members one of these awesome, arcade-quality Official Super Street Fighter 4 FightSticks (new Tournament Editions with Chun-Li artwork, one each for PS3 and Xbox 360):

I can personally vouch for these hefty joysticks, as they've improved my game from "sucky" to "not quite so sucky." (Full disclosure: Capcom/Mad Catz sent me a set to try out, but I legitimately liked these even before that.)

Want one to recreate the arcade fighting-game experience at home, without the thugs, cigarette smoke, and filthy quarters? Here's how to enter:

1. Follow MadCatzInc on Facebook and Twitter.

2. Comment below with your favorite Street Fighter memory, and mention which system (PS3 or 360) you'd like a joystick for. (Don't forget: As with all Bitmob Giveaways, you must be registered on this site with your full first and last name or else you don't qualify).

On Monday, Sept. 27, I'll update this post to let everyone know which two randomly drawn, qualified winners we've selected. Mad Catz will take care of prize fulfillment, but please note: Only addresses in the continental U.S. are eligible. Sorry everyone who lives too far away from us! Also: void where prohibited.

Update: Congrats to Alex Nunez and Jordan Richardson! Random number generator (plus a quick check to make sure you didn't cheat) determined you two to be our winners. Look for an email from me soon to get your mailing addresses.

Thanks to everyone who entered, and welcome to all our new members who came here specifically for this contest. We hope you'll stick around!

My favorite Street Fighter memory is when I finally understood and executed charge partitioning in 3rd Strike with Urien and Remy. Being able to do machinegun LoV's with Remy and doing tackle tackle headbutt with Urien felt like a great accomplishment.

Sweet! Love to love a 360 one.

Favorite memory, I have too many, but rallying a comeback with e honda against an Akuma player is one. With a razor thin bar of left I managed to beat him using a last ditch super combo that he jumped into.

Oh Dhalsim! You're always there when I feel lazy!

I was playing this on the 360, if you know what I mean.

My favorite Street Fighter memory involves me ordering a fight pad on Amazon, then kicking ass for a week straight with the new piece of hardware.

I'd prefer the 360 one, but I'm impartial.

(PS3) I remember an entire day spent at the local arcade in my small Mexico town, where we would switch between eight people two at a time. The first time one of us figured out how to get Akuma, there was a thunderous cheer of surprise and we almost got kicked out.

(360) Getting up early ever saturday morning with a pocket full of quarters and riding my bike before the video store opened to have a few hours to myself of Street Fight 2 Goodness. Good times.

I'll opt for a PS3 one if I win. Hmmm, memory. I guess I just remember Street Fighter 2 being one of the only fighting games I ever took a liking to, and feebly trying to hold my own by mashing away, frequently failing but always having fun with friends.

I love the thugs, cigarette smoke, and dirty coins. It's not an authentic Japanese pachinko parlor without those things!

Wait...what's a Street Fighter?

While I AM NOT ELIGIBLE FOR WINNING, I just have to share this:

When SF Alpha 2 Gold came out (as part of Street Fighter Collection) for the PSone, a friend and I were both really into SFA, and had an ongoing rivalry that would last for about... oh, 2 hours after it came out.

Having lost at me aprox. 10 times in a row, I offered him the chance to choose my character. SF2 Dhalsim it was (the one without Super Combos and stuff). I pitted him against the likes of M.Bison, Evil Ryu and Cammy and... well, half the roster of the game... and I won every time. Suddenly he got off his seat, pressed the power button on the PSone, and went to get something to eat, without saying a word.

I still remember his face to this day. XD

(PS3) Favorite memory is probably going to Riptide Arcade on the weekends (its a local arcade located in Pier 39 in San Francisco) with my high school friends to play Street Fighter II in the big screen, we would have a little tournament and the last standing would get a free treat (fooooooood) and people who lost would have to chip in... We used to have a lot of fun. Really miss those good ol' days. I'm sadden that Riptide Arcade is closed now.

My favorite memory is when I first got my copy of Street Fighter 4 and the medium level fightstick. I had taken the game over to my friend Tristan's house and there was about 5 of us taking turns. It took a few rounds to get used to playing with a fightstick again but once I got used to it again it was amazing. I was doing very well and it felt I was back in the arcade. Then I pulled off my first super move on my friend, allowing me to come back from behind to win the match. I haven't had a moment like that in a long time. My medium level fightstick is on the ps3 so if I win this tournament edition I'd like the Xbox 360 version. Thanks!

(PS3) This story is 2 years + old, and likely has some factual errors to it. K, if you're reading this, feel free to correct me or refute the entire story. It is entirely likely that you remember it better then me, and I probably have it all wrong.

My second to last job before now (where I'm unemployed) was a call center - Stream International in Beaverton, OR. Due to something of the nature of the place, and the stress level, we got hour breaks instead of half-hour breaks. Thus, we had time to savor our lunch and, perhaps most importantly, goof off some. In the breakroom, hooked up to a fairly large TV was a soft-modded original Xbox, with an emulator running on it. Amongst the various MAME roms on there was Street Fighter Alpha 3.

I'd had some prior experience playing Street Fighter Alpha 3 against the AI, but I never really played much against people. Most of the fighting games at my local arcade - Family Fun Center in Wilsonville, were 3D games, and were generally left alone in favor of the Light Gun games. So, consequently, when I started playing Alpha 3 against my co-workers, I got my ass beat, and good. Still, I kept at it, and kept at it for a year, constantly getting smoked, but slowly improving with my main guy - Ryu. Not Ken - I can't intentionally do a Dragon Punch motion. I am fairly good though at doing a Hadouken motion - and thus I can pull off the Shinkuu Hadouken fairly reliably.

After a year, I've been improving, and can win a few matches against people. However, I'm not that good at the best player there - K. K came in the same time I did, and was in my same training class. K is, obviously, his nickname. This is in part because he is Hawaiian, and his first name is just tricky enough to pronounce for Haoles like me that rather than listen to us constantly mangle it, he asks us call him K.

So, anyway, I've improved over the last year, but what I can't do is beat K. So, at about the year and a quarter mark, I come in at lunch, and K's on his break, at the machine. I sit down and we start in a match. There's no line so we can just play as we wish. I stick with Ryu, and K bounces around between his go-to, Gokui/Akuma, and various other characters. As we get to the end of K's break, we've got a bit of a crowd forming up behind us, though nobody really wants to play yet - it's midday, and there's nothing on TV to watch, so we're the best show in the room. We get to the last match before K has to leave, and I still haven't won a match yet. I win a round here and there, but never a match.

So, we get to the last match before K has to get back on the line. K switches back to Akuma, while I still stay on Ryu. I win the first round, K wins the second. The last match goes until, basically, both of us are down to the last dregs of our life bar. K goes for an jumping attack, or jumps forward, or something like that - I don't remember the precise details, and I land a Shinkuu Hadouken, and win the match. We get a smattering of applause from the peanut gallery for my win, K and I shake hands, and K returns to his shift. The next guy sits down and I'm so buzzed from my last match, and trying to wrap my brain around what happened... that I lose. XD

I saw K not too long ago, at Ground Kontrol in Portland. I was playing Street Fighter IV on the big screen, and wasn't doing great. To be honest, this is in part because I was playing on an Arcade stick. I have no prior experience playing on an arcade stick, and have played fighting games on a D-Pad for most of my life. Consequently, and I know it's bad form to blame your controller, I don't have the muscle memory for playing on an arcade stick. But, hey, if I win, that's something I'll hopefully be able to build up.

Thank you for reading my wayyyy too long entry - which probably could have been it's own column. ;-)

Beating someone in a local arcade at Street Fighter 4 after having not stepped into an arcade for 3 years. The feeling was amazing. Xbox 360 stick please.

(PS3) I have tons of memories around Street Fighter.  My parents would drop me and a friend or 3 off at the arcade in the mall while they went shopping.  They'd give me a twenty dollar bill that I was supposed to use for food and fun, but I would just immediately slide it into the change machine.  We'd line up at our favorite machines (SF2, MK, KI, etc) and take turns getting beaten by the "big kids" who had already learned the moves for every character in every game EVER it seemed.  Occasionally, though, you'd get a huge upset win over one of these big shavers.  My feeling of exultation came after narrowly winning against a guy who was backed into a figurative corner as Blanka.  Every time I got near he'd try to shock me, and he was capable enough to jump over any of my Hadokens (yes, I was the annoying guy who always picked Ken or Ryu.  And yes, I'm still better with them than anyone else, though my Sagat is coming along nicely).  Finally, with both of our health bars running low, and time running out, he decided to get reckless and come in for the kill.  As he jumped towards me, I unleashed a perfectly timed Shoryuken.  My friends all erupted into cheers and I was totally pumped about beating the teenager.  When I looked up at him though, I thought he was gonna pummel me for realsy.  With a pissed-off glare, he left the machine telling me that I sucked, but I was too excited to care.

(360) My favorite memory was shoryuken spamming to victory against some "hot shot" at the arcade. And leaving right after. Stop on top. That's the way to do it.

Wow that stick would look great with my PS3 :)

Besides playing countless matches against family and friends, I for whatever reason, fondly remember poring over the instruction manual for SF2:CE for the Genesis.

Seeing how lame that is I'll share a more tragic moment in my SF history.
I brought my fairly new copy of Street Fighter Alpha 2 over to my cousin's house so a bunch of us could play at the get together they were having. After some awesome and enjoyable matches we went to grab some food that was waiting for us. After a while we go back to the room to continue the beatings, but alas, the game would not play. I took out the disc, and to my horror, discovered a tiny dent in the disc rendering it useless.
After some investigation we discovered that one of the children (approx. 2 years old) snuck into the room, climbed on top of the bed, stood up against the headboard where the PlayStation lay, popped open the disc tray and bit my precious disc.
I was without SF for a while, but my consolation came with the superior SFA3 which I still have to this day.

My favorite SF memory is a battle I had with my high school friend and SFA3 rival where we played a Ryu v. Ken match that included a span of one full minute in which neither of us landed a blow. Blocking, dodging, rolling, and jumping every potential hit on both sides. Good times.

360 for me, if I win.

(Xbox360) I have many fond SF memories but of all of them, whether they be great feats of might or skill. It just always takes the cake when you join an online lobby and you get some trash talker and you decimate them. My fondest memory was just this, some guy trash talking, so I picked dan because he told me to pick someone that takes skill, so I perfected him twice. With dan, then casually said "good game" then left. (evil laughter)

(360) My favorite Street Fighter memory is playing it in Canada. :(

September 22, 2010

(PS3) Fondest streetfighter memory would be playing against this so called "ace" player who was dominating everyone at an arcade with ryu in SSF2 Turbo when it first came out. I used zangief and inched out a win for the first round, and perfected him in 9 seconds in the second. He flipped out and called me a cheap bastard and slammed his hands on the machine, breaking 4 of the buttons to where they popped out onto the floor. The very large arcade employee came over and grabbed him by his ponytail and threw him out. We didn't see but we think he roughed him up when he was outside as well. Everybody was clapping, was pretty funny, even tho we couldn't play versus on the machine anymore that night.

(XBOX 360) Played almost every SF game on every console since SFII. But the most memorable ones are playing in arcades at Malls, Convenient Stores, Comic Book Stores, Movie Theatres, and Everywhere else! (XBOX 360)

360. My fondest memory are from fight nights I used to have when I was in school playing CV2, 3S, MVC2, and even a few of the EX series games. Eventually we tried our skills out at a Capcom Nickel City in Libertyville and god merked pretty hard the entire time. Told us to keep coming back if we wanted to get better. First time we'd ever been balled up like that.

My favorite Street Fighter memory is actually a very recent one! I entered the Dragon*Con 2010 SSF4 Tournament and about 30 people showed up to compete. I main El Fuerte and there are a few matchups that gives me a lot of trouble, one being Balrog. Although I knocked the champion from last year's Balrog into the Loser's Bracket, I unfortunately got knocked into Loser's myself by the next Balrog I faced; he was very solid. I did my best to keep my composure and not to get rattled by the defeat. Staying calm and making opponents play my game, I proceeded to work my way back up to Grand Finals and it ended up being a rematch with that Balrog. Knowing that I already have all the matchup experience needed to win, I played with the utmost confidence and won both sets (best out of 5 matches), going 6-0 without losing a single match to win the tournament! It was truly a grand feeling to finally win my 1st SSF4 tournament of my competitive fighting game career! ^_^

(System: PS3) One of my favorite Street Fighter memories was back in 1991, I was 9 years old and my cousin had come over to visit from Texas for the summer. He knew we had a 7-11 closeby, so he took me with him to go get some of those ice cold slurpees. Little did we know there was a SF2 cab inside there. Arriving a few minutes later after walking in the hot sun, there it was...the loudest, most amazing game I have ever seen. Elephant sounds and Blanka roars got my complete attention. Right off the bat, I walked over there(forgetting about the slurpee), and I placed my quarter in there. The trademark chime sounded followed by the timeless music of the character select screen. I didn't know what I was doing at the time and I wasn't quite used to the 6 button layout, but regardless I was 9 so I chose blanka. My cousin bought my slurpee and just watched as I started my first match against Guile. I started jumping around and kicking and punching randomly at first but then I realized I could block attacks, so I started being more cautious. I never figured out how his attacks worked except that if I pressed punch really fast, lighting would come out and shock whoever got near me. So anyway, Guile kicked my butt really bad on the final round, but it didn;t matter. I was hooked and ever since then I grew up playing Street Fighter to this day. I'll never forget that day and every time I see the ATM where that game used to be, I always think of the SF2 cabinet that I played as a kid and my first struggle against Guile(Who is now my main lol).

Good memories. =)

Favorite Moment: It happened during the original Street Fighter movie with Jean Claude Van Damme. Chun Li was confronting Bison about how he shot her dad while escaping. Bison replied "For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me... it was Tuesday." I had the laugh of my life.

My favorite memory had to be the first time I had raging demon performed on me by akuma.  I was playing the playstation version of alpha 3 world tour mode when me and my friends finally hit the level needed to unlock guile's, evil ryu, and shin akuma's stages.  I said lets beat it and then we can finally rest feeling accomplished. Got through the Guile stage with ease and somehow beat evil ryu without him using RD (because I would have been shocked at that point).  So I get to the level and I finally have the showdown with Shin when he pulls off his infamous Raging Demon.  We were in pure shock sitting there looking at each other like WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!  I tried and tried and no matter how many times I would attempt to beat him, he would always pull that move off on me and connect.  To this day, I still fear the raging demon, and it gives me NIGHTMARES.....

I'm cool with anything =D

although there are many, my favorite street fighter moment has to be one that many people dont believe is true. I was about 6 or 7 when super 2 came out for genesis and snes (genesis in my case) i remember constantly bothering my brother and asking my brother to take me to the arcade with him to play and he said that i was too young for the arcade but if i could somehow save up enough money to buy a used copy from blockbuster that he would play with me as often as possible. i remember begging my mom to drive me to blockbuster that night after she got home from work, i was so excited, we get to blockbuster, i layed out my $10  in change and busted up singles on the counter only to find out that the game was priced at 17.99 :(  thankfully my loving mother lent me the extra 8 dollars i needed which i paid back by doing chores. but it was well worth it. I still to this day own that copy of super 2 for sega and i owe every ounce of passion i have for this game to my brother.

oh, xbox 360.

Well I suppose my best memory with Street Fighter is the time I met some of my best friends and got my first job. You see, I lived around the corner from a game store. This was about a half a year before Street Fighter 4 came out I believe, so I went to the game store to see if they had any information about it. As I walk in the store was completely empty, the only people there were the manager and the assistant manager and they were playing Third Strike! The Manager was playing Hugo and the Assistant Manager was playing Ken. I was just watching them play, they didn't notice I came in. The manager was really good and was teaching the assistant manager how to play. After they finish the round they see me in the store and ask if I need help, I tell them I was just watching them play. The manager asks me if I play and I tell him I do, so he gives up the controller and let's me play the assistant manager. I pick my main at the time Akuma (I really didn't play 3S much at the time and he was the only character I somewhat knew how to play decently) and we play. It was a pretty close match that went into the 3rd round. I started pouring on the pressure until I had full meter and pulled off the only trick I knew in 3S, the Kara Demon. I wasn't too good at pulling it off, but I got REALLY lucky and nailed it winning the round. We started talking theory fighter and they asked me if I was looking for a job since they had an opening. I accepted and made friends with everyone who came through that store. We were close with our customers and became known through the company as the "Fighter" store. Every store had a specialty, whether it was sports games or shooters, but no one could top us in the fighter department. That store shut down about a year ago, but I've kept in touch with everyone. Those were some of the best times of my life.

PS3 would be my system of choice.

My favorite memory is from when my brother and I were watching the EVO 2010 SSF4 finals (Ricky vs Daigo) and the stream died. Potatohead (guy "in charge" of the stream) was terribly mad at himself for letting everyone down. He managed to get the match uploaded afterwards, though, and was forgiven by the community haha. Not necessarily the best memory, but it is my favorite. I would prefer a 360 stick if I were to win, please.

My story begins with me being just 6 years old :P I always loved to play with Chun Li! I use do her taunt with her saying, "I did it!" in japanese all the time xD Anyway, me and my cousin play all the time online. He always beats me though :/ Since he has an tournament edition "S" arcade stick and im stuck with a xbox360 controller he always end up with the upper hand. When we first got SF4 I use to practice all the time with the remote. It was sort of hard for me to get the combo's and focus cancel down pack with it... Well after I practice for hours on end, my cousin would host a game and I would usually join... but the outcome always ended up with me losing... So one day I tried saving up for an arcade stick... and I had no luck with doing that since money is very hard for me to get my hands on... I showed my cousin who's boss just a week ago before my xbox live died. Usually he pick's Ryu, Sagat, or Ken I had to give him the ol' thunder thigh magic! This moment always make me smile, he was spamming Haudoken's and I was going into Focus so my revenge meter would build, Sooo He does another fireball and then BAM! (Housenka) I love this ultra move for Chun Li! When she did her final move with her spinning in the air, I was all like, "BAM! How ya like that Derek?(my cousin)" He starts saying that its beginner's luck :P as the match continues we are tied up with both of us having one win for each round! x-x My hands start to sweat... I begin to panic and button mash for a bit.. But then.. I realised that I could do this with Chun Li... So I tried to get my cousin out of the corner's because that his usual spot that he will get me at, so he jumps out the corner then puts me in the corner. >.>; He comes for a shoryuken, but I use EX-Spinning Bird Kick :D My cousin would have never expected me to use an EX-Move! So He's off me and im out of the corner! He jumps in the air! I hit him twice with both hard punches! Then follow up with a 3 medium down kick! Then this pops up on my screen, (KO!) ^_^ I was so thrilled to finally beat my cousin after all these years with street fighter! Thx Capcom for making such a great game for me to remeber from all these years of playing! and Thank You Madcatz for making great products for hard-core gamers!

(PS3) So, my memory isn't of actually playing Street Fighter, it's from when I went to my second SF tournament which was West Coast Warzone 2. So, originally I wasn't gonna be able to go because I simply couldn't drive and it was quite a drive away and my parents thorughts on it were hell naw we aren't taking you. So, a friend of mine who I'd only talked to once at my first tournament that I barely knew said he was willing to drive a good 20-30mins out of his way to give me a ride to WCW2, needless to say I was excited. I wasn't known in the fighting game community, hell I wouldn't have even considered myself a part of it. The only people I knew in it were Mike Ross, Combofiend, and Keno. Anyways, after we arrived at the venue and got to help with setting up all the casual stations  I felt like I was at some major prestigious event, except instead of having celebrities there were pro SF/Tekken/Blazblue players! As if seeing them wasn't enough I got to talk to a few of the people I had turned into my own personal celebrities and they were totally chill about it! I got to take pictures with Ricky Ortiz, FilipinoChamp, Justin Wong, Tatsu, James Chen, and a few others and even had a rather pleasant conversation about Final Fantasy XIII with Justin Wong.  The amount of hyp and friendliness at the tournament is absolutely mind blowing. It really made me feel like I'd known these people for ages. Pretty much, yea my memory didn't exactly involve playing Street Fighter, but I like to think that mine shows how Street Fighter, or any video game can really bring people who probably would have never talked together.

My favorite Street Fighter memories all revolve around the arcade, mostly beating people much older than me when I was little.  Though this eventually lead to be being slapped by a 17 year old in a bowling alley.  While perhaps not my happiest memory, it's one of the most memorable and I do get a bit of smug satisfaction knowing I kicked his ass so badly he felt he had to overreact like that.  Also he got banned from the place because I knew the manager and they saw the whole thing.

I'd like it for the PS3

I think my favorite Street Fighter memory was learning how to do a fireball motion. It me forever as a kid to understand the concept of doing a motion before an attack. Don't get me started about when I figured out the motion of Dragon Punch. Now I have te luxary of looking up command lists and what not. But figuring out the motion as a kid was just magical. (I'd like the 360 stick)

Hmmm, best Street Fighter memory... that's a hard one. I guess I'm going to have to go with first getting into SF4 on the PC. I was horrible, I used to do a live stream thing of me doing ranked games. people would make fun of me, people would help. I loved it. Now I'd say I'm a MUCH better player overall. Wish I could do live streams from my 360 though. Only sucky thing is that I'm using a pad, and a lot of the times my inputs never work..

Wow, so many years of playing Street Fighter games and so many great memories. I guess my favorite would be a rather recent one. Super Street Fighter 4 allows me and my 4 nephews, my best friend and brother in law to all play in an endless lobby. The first time we all got online to play one another I realized that 3 generations of my family/extended family were able to play SF the same way that we'd be playing if we'd had the arcade cabinet, but from three different states. Its one of the few games we all own and it's becuase nothing beats trash talk like Street Fighter related trash talking

If I am eligible to win the arcade sticks, I own an Xbox 360.

My favorite SF memory just occured recently at San Diego Comic-Con 2010. I recently just started getting into the whole fighting game genre and after SFIV and SSFIV came out I dove right into the whole scene. At the Capcom booth I was able to meet a lot of players, cosplayers of street fighter high, and fans, get my copy of SSFIV signed by Ono-san, and attend the panel where they announced SFXTekken. It was a blast! I could definitely use another stick, since I only have one. Preferably for PS3 please :)

Favorite moment was the first time I beat the man who mentored me. He beat me for years but one day I suddenly realized I was better than him and could beat him at will. He threw a fit, kicked me out of his house and never invited me over to play SF again. Sweet victory.

Favorite memory is getting Street Fighter IV on launch day. Waiting for the game was painful but well worth it. 360 for the arcade stick.

My favorite Street Fighter memory is the first time I fought Akuma in Super Street Fighter 2, back before I even knew who Akuma was, so the whole thing came as a huge surprise to me.

I've got PS3.

My favorite SF memory was battling online against a player that was clearly more skilled than I and using a top-tier character (Rufus).  I pulled out an impossible, palms-sweaty, clutch win that ended with a ridiculous victory dance.   My roommate walked in on it, and he still won't let me live it down.

one of my fondest memories was at one of my first tournaments during the 3rd strike days. I was playing as Q and my opponent was chun-li. it was a very close match and at the end I had caught her in a juggle combo that was supposed to kill her. the crowd was tense getting hype. then I missed the last hit and everyone freaked, but I managed to sweep her for the win. the crowd went nuts for me when I won. it was such a great feeling at that moment, that it became the reason I still play and aim to win. I'm tired of not having my own stick and having to be a burden and borrow everyone else's. I need a 360 stick please.

favourite memory of street fighter is when i finally completed arcade mode. i had a sega megadrive with sf2 special championship edition and i was only around 4 - 5 years old. my mum was calling me to eat and getting angry but since you couldnt pause the game i had to play. then finally by using the famous jump kick, sweep combo with ryu i beat bison and got to see the ending of ryu walking away. great times. If i get picked to win, I have a playstation 3. thanks!!

I remember receiving a SSS grade in Third Strike while playing in arcade mode.  I was messing around with Hugo, and won against Yang using only 3 command body slam grabs and 1 Gigas Breaker super.  I dont main Hugo, so I was bewildered and thought it was hilarious haha. [I'd like a chun li stick for ps3 please!]

(360) The first time I ever rode the LIRR into the city and went to Chinatown Fair by myself. All my friends made fun of me, but the arcade scene wasn't something I wanted to pass up. There's nothing like it. The intensity, sweat, trash talk, smells (because you know it reeks in there); they're all something you can't get from just sitting home and playing online. Hopefully winning a Madcatz Chun-li stick will bring some of that magic back into my home.

My favorite memory is right before EVO 2010. I had been practicing day and night endlessly. Before the car trip to Vegas, me and a friend both woke up pretty early. We decided to play a couple rounds before everyone else woke up and we would be leaving. Those couple round were incredibly fun, with both of us goofing off and joking around. We were laughing and having a wonderful time and I clearly thought to myself, "This is it, this is why I love this game". It helped me remember what made Street Fighter so great. It was incredibly refreshing after spending weeks doing nothing but practice, practice, practice.

Evo2010 had such a good vibe and was bigger than anything video game related I had been to and I left doing better than what I had my goal set at.

(Xbox360 would be nice, Thanks!)

(xbox360) My favorite memory in street fighter history was going to the Capcom Fight Club in New York last year. I was graduating from college on the same day. After I receveie my diploma and eating with my family and best friend, I headed to New York for the event.  I waited in line for hours but got to meet some great people who love street fighter as much as I did.  One the event started and I was able to enter, I talked to sanford kelly,  Seth Killian, and Joe in person.  Also, I played  Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the first time and play street fighter IV with some friends I meant in line.  That was one of the best days of my life.

ps3 for me. Fondest memory? my first tournament experience, NorCal Regionals in Sunnyvale CA, 2009. A really big crowd full of people who all 'raised the rufus' whenever ricky ortiz pulled out the ultra in the final matches? I felt like I had found my tribe.

(360) I was at an arcade with some friends when I first saw Street Fighter 2. It looked like a pretty cool game and it was open at the time, so we went up and checked it out. The pure discovery that takes place the first time you play Street Fighter is exhilarating. At first we thought Dhalsim was the best character. I mean, he could stretch his arms longer than any other fighter, he had the clear advantage. Then someone accidentally learned Chun-Li's kick flurry, so she became the best character. Then another guy somehow threw a fireball as Ryu. We were all floored. "How did you do that?" we all asked him. "I...I don't know," he replied. We set about trying everything and once we could finally replicate it, we were trying it with everyone. Strategies evolved so quickly. What worked just one round ago was completely worthless with the coming round. That's still the most fun I've ever had with Street Fighter, but that one afternoon at the arcade sparked my love for fighting games forever (despite not being very good at them.)

My favorite memory would probably be when I finally mastered how to do all three of Ryu's special moves back on the arcade version of Street Fighter II. It felt like the biggest accomplishment to me when I was a kid, and so did a lot of people who finally learned them too.

(360) My favorite moment was strolling into my local arcade tournament, not knowing anyone, and taking top 8 back when SF4 first came out. I met a lot of people that day and became a part of the Philadelphia fighting game community.

(360) Like most of the posters above me, my love of the Street Fighter series, goes back to where it all started, the arcade. Only we didn't have a good aracde in my town in Idaho. What we had was a Common Cents gas station. Any time I could mooch money off my friends with paper routes we were down at Common Cents, playing Street Fighter and wishing we didn't live in such a Podunk town so we could do so without having truckers watch us.

(PS3) One of my favority and early memories is playing Street Fighter in the arcades for the very first time. People didn't know how to perform the characters' special moves yet. I remember watching some random dude just beat everyone with Honda's Hundred Hand Slap cause nobody knew what to do against it.

XBOX 360: I can say that some of my fondest memories as a child were when my mom piled my two brothers and myself and set off to the laundromat. While my mom would wash clothes, my brothers would play SFII. At first, I wouldn't play it because, believe it or not, I didn't like when the characters were depicted all bloodied after a loss. When I finally steeled myself to actually play the game (it happened to be the first time my brothers rented the game on the SNES), I discovered what I had been missing and I've been a fan of Street Fighter since!

(360), My favorite memory is charging Turnaround punch the whole match while turtling against this C. Viper. I was getting beat horrendously, and aroundd the 40 second mark I had a few pixels of health left and she walked up to me and as I let go as a desperation act, she did a low thunder knuckle which my Turnaound punch avoided and it K.Oed her instantly from about half health =P

xbox360. My favorite moment was when I was at a louisiana tournament called battle for the south. I went against this ibuki player and I myself was viper. It was one of the closest matches I have ever been en. We both have won 1 match a peice and we were on our final match each with one round with about 5% life left for each of us. He ended up trying to zone me with a kunai but I ended up going for a dash then SJ towards him with a MK and ended up killing him. All the people around us cheered at how hype this match was.

My favorite memory is getting back into the fighting genre as a whole. Growing up, I was the only one who played games in my house. My only two fighting games were Tekken 3 and Street Fighter II for SNES, so I just stuck playing single player games (such as RPGs). It was in my Senior year of high school that I met a friend that re-introduced me to Street Fighter with Third Strike, and the fun times kept on rolling up until now with SSF4. He is both a teacher and a rival, and it is always a pleasure to spar against him, so if I win this Arcade Stick, I would want to give it to him. Without him, I wouldn't enjoy Street Fighter as much as I do now. Reigniting my interest into Street Fighter will always be my best memory.

My choice is Xbox 360.  I think my favorite moment is when I first cleared all of the Trials in Street Fighter 4; my execution in fighting games was pretty abysmal before then (still kind of is now) and that was a sort of triumph in both being able to level up my execution as well as accomplish a goal I had for a fighting game.

My favorite memory is definately the first time I fought against M. Bison and Sagat. Hours just to get past Sagat's tiger shot only to run into M. Bison afterwards. All I can say is that I've taken more than my fair share of head stomps lol. When I finally beat him all I could was just jump for joy. Seeing that Ryu ending was so satisfying. Then I played again lol.

I would love a 360 stick to recreate these moments.

My favorite memory of street fighter was when I went to Toys R Us and saw Blanka owning Ken on the cover of the SFII box for the SNES. Right then and there, I knew I had the arcade in my living room.

If I get this Chun Li fightstick for my Xbox 360, I can relive that memory in my living room again!

(XBOX 360) My favorite memory is the time I watched my friend qualify for SBO while playing Sagat. It was the very first time I'd watch Street Fighter at the Pro level and was blown away at the complexity and intricacy of the game. I knew from then on I wanted to get to that level of play. In order to do that, I need a brand new spankin TE STICK ! fadc ULTRA thank you !

(PS3) My favorite Street Fighter memory would have to be going to the NYC Fight Club last year. I when there straight from my last class and waited in line for at least 4 hours. When I got in I ate pizza and played TvC and Street Fighter IV. There was also demonstrations of the unreleased Super Street Fighter 4, but it was so crowded and I was too short to see everything. Either way, I was able to play different people and got some swag. It was my first time experiencing what the fighting game community was like.

PS3 for me please. =)

I don't know if this is my favorite memory, but it's the most memorable. I was on summer break after fifth grade, and I made my first ever trip to my motherland, South Korea. While there, I encountered a very cool-looking arcade machine called "Street Fighter: World Warrior." I decided to give it a go, and to my surprise, I was actually beating the computer opponent with this dude wearing a headband. Then, I received my first-ever arcade challenger: a 6-year-old boy who probably came up to my stomach in height. His older brother instructed him to pick Blanka, and told him to just keep mashing on one punch button.

I thought it was cute until I realized I had no idea how to beat Blanka's electricity. Every time I'd attempt to hit him, I'd get hurt more than he would...and of course, at this time, I had no idea how to pull off Ryu's hadoken. I had some luck with sweeps, but even then, I'd do it at the wrong range and hurt myself some more.

Shamefully, within a minute or so, it was over. I was booted off the machine by a dwarf/kid who barely broke a sweat beating me.

A couple of decades later, I'm still a loyal Street Fighter fan and have obviously come a very long way. But that memory still haunts me to this day.

(360)  One of my fondest memories of Street Fighter was with Street Fighter II Championship Edition for the Sega Genesis when I was still in elementary. Playing with my brother as the most immediate sparring partner had toughened me up just enough to start playing single player mode at the hardest difficulty. It proved to be very difficult. I somehow managed to get up to Dictator though admittingly enough with Ken and j.hk c.hk sweep tactics through most of the roster. Dictator however was the worst, just as bad as how Akuma is now in HDRemix, spamming psycho crushers which I still don't understand is possible. After a few hours of trying on and off, taking breaks and thinking about what to do, out of some stroke of luck it seemed like Dictator made a few mistakes (if that's possible) and I ended up taking the match, finishing the game on the hardest difficulty. This was also with turbo off :P

My favorite street fighter memory was back in the day when my brother was playing street fighter II world warrior at the arcade he was taking everyones quarters with any character. So one match he chooses guile a guy comes up and chooses ken. My brother perfects him both rounds, the guy got so mad he actually punched my brother in the face and my brother just took the hit and laughed hysterically. The crowd boo'd him and the manager kicked that guy out. I'll never forget that day it was epic. If i were to get the stick i would like it for xbox 360 please.

September 22, 2010

My top moment would definately be when my girlfriend and I were playing Street Fighter 4 online, with two TVs next to each other. Of course, we weren't playing against each other. Of course not. We spent the better part of four hours playing completely seperate matches.

Oh, and Playstation 3, please.

My top moment would probably be getting beat by my girl friend @ arcade infinity infront of every body there.... i will not ever live that moment down... (PS3) When I first got Super Street Fighter 2 HD remix I was absolutely terrible at it. I finally thought I may have gotten a little better until my non gamer roommate asked to play and proceeded to kick my ass for a solid half hour. She can't beat me at Street Fighter 4 but for whatever reason she dominates at SF2.

September 22, 2010

My fondest memory of street fighter was actually the first time I came into contact with the hyper edition arcade cabinet that sat on the far right corner of a pizza joint my step-father was working at a time. He never thought about giving me quarter to play, and so I would stand close to the cabinet whenever somebody ...was playing and they would even let me finish their turn...guess because I was such a small kid and I had such a excited look on my face they couldn't resist letting me play. One day my step-father finally gave me a quarter! the second he turned on the cabinet and system was ready to go...I wasted no time lol. But who would I pick!? I went with Vega because he just stood out more for me ^_^ Sadly I was destroyed by a Ryu player but since that day I been a Street Fighter Head...I would love to have one of those ps3 mad catz fight stick so I could bring back that memory...although I play much better now ;)

My favorite street fighter memory was going to Battle of the South in New Orleans.  Although I didn't play so well at the tournament, I loved being there because when my friend was in a match, and he was down to less than 5% life, the rest of us stood behind him and cheered him on as he made a comeback to win the match.

My best memory of Street Fighter was my first tournament. It was the weekend right after spring semester was over this year. I got 3rd, but I also got hungry for placing better, since I was so unsatisfied with how I placed. I was also using a Hori stick with stock Hori buttons, so I probably could've done better if I had a Madcatz stick :p ... I play on ps3 and 360.

(Xbox 360)>>  I had been searching far and wide for a new competitive game in where skill actually matters...

(not like wow's crappy arena) so when i went to my friends house and played on vanilla sf4 with a stick. and ill never forget the impression that that experience had left me.. my freind was already a veteran showing me no mercy with his ryu lol. the next week i had bought an xbox, and new madcatz tournament edition stick and 2 years of xbox live. Ive been hooked ever since and go twice weekly to local gatherings to improve my skill level. tl;dr finding fighting games (sf4) was one of the best things that happened to me.

September 22, 2010

Favorite memory... Hmmmm it's probably a tie between two. First was when I was younger living overseas at age 10-12 playing alpha two on a military base at the time (Good to be back in the USA) wooping up on a bunch of 17-20 years old guys with my beast ass Sakura. Secondly was finding out that with my mass comm major I could go try out interning for capcom (setting my goal). I'll say 360 stick for sure but I could live with a PS3 as well. (360)

September 22, 2010

My favorite street fighter memory, was finally parrying my friend's Shinkuu Hadoken with Yang in Street Fighter 3: Third strike, after that moment i've been hooked. I play nothing but fighting games now. Street Fighter for Life . (PS3)

Default_picture

My first and favorite memory of Street Fighter was when I was a kid hanging out at the arcade, and I saw Street Fighter 2. No one was playing it at the time so I watched the screens play through. I saw that "Winners Don't Use Drugs" thought to myself, is that some form of cheating? Then I saw (Joe) knock out (Mike) before the Street Fighter Logo came on. At that age I didn't know why I was slightly offenended. I mean me being a little black kid seeing that just made me want to pop a quarter in and get revenge or something. So I did, and turns out that neither of those two were even in the game. I thought to myself well now I have a quarter in who will I pick? I chose Ken, not because I thought he was cool or anything, but because I spent so much time looking at each picture that when I was on Ken the time expired :(

My first match was against Zangief, and he whooped me bad. I think I hit him twice each round. I didn't know how to throw fireballs or even block really. I enjoyed that game so much that I didn't even care that I lost. I spent the rest of that day in front of the Street Fighter 2 Arcade unit, mind you I only had 6 quarters. I still enjoyed watching older kids who knew how to play the game. Every since that day I have been a Street Fighter fan, and Ken has been my favorite character too.

If I were to win that stick I would like it for the Xbox 360. Although I have a PS3 as well.

It was street fighter 2, for snes. my brother and i instantly took to the game and have been playing together ever since. we grew up on capcom fighting games after that, vs series, 3rd strike, Ex series, and now 4.

(Xbox 360) My favorite memory was 2 or 3 years ago when I went to my friend's house and we had a mini tournament with his friends.  We were playing Street Fighter III: Third Strike and I debuted my Yang & Dudley there.  There was 32 players and there was the 3rd place "Losers" Match and the Championship match (of course).  I played Yang throughout the whole tournament and got all the way to the final 4.  I made the silly mistake of debuting my Dudley too late in the tournament and lost.  :(  Then, I was placed in the 3rd Place match because I was eliminated in the round before the "Championship".

I never made it that far ever in a Third Strike tournament because I was never very good at that game.  Too much parrying usually made me frustrated and I would lose haha.  But the time for my match came...  I was nervous and they said we are playing best of 3 rounds, best of 5 games, and you're allowed only ONE substitution of characters.  So I was thinking...  Hmmm...  Dudley, Yang, and/or Ken (my main) to play here.  I decided to stick to pick Yang, so we played and I was playing against a Yun (go figure haha).  I was getting beaten either by chip or flat out losing.  Then I was finally down 2 games to 0, so I switched to my Ken, which I didn't play the whole tournament.  After I picked at him, everyone was laughing because my Ken wasn't too great at all in the previous tournaments.  I DESTROYED the Yun player and picked up 3 straight games to win 3rd place.  I managed to pick up 2 perfect rounds and 2 super arts finishes.  After the match...  Everyone just stood quietly and were in shock.

If you ask me...  That sound is always the best thing to here and well worth it to be my favorite Street Fighter memory.  By the way, did I mention that Yun player was the winner of the last mini SF3 tourney we had and he eliminated me second round last time?  XD  Also, another thing...  I picked up the SF4 1st place title in that same day with Ken & Dan.  Yes...  I said it, I used "Dan".   =D

(PS3) I was a fan of the series since I first purchased Street Fighter II for the SNES. It was only then, where I would invite friends and family for mini-tourneys just for the fun. Although I wouldn't win all the time, the game did provide me with lots of fun, which is what every game should feel like.

I still play Street Fighter, most recently Super Street Fighter 4, and although people are too busy nowadays for tourneys like in the old days, I still have fun playing online against different players.

(Xbox  360).. best memory of SF.. would be back in the 90s, as a kid I'd religiously play SF II with Chun since she's the only character I knew how to play with on PC... back then I didn't know the concept of shoryuken motions, hadoken, etc. I just knew how to hold down the arrows and random buttons for charges. She was the only character that was good to me.. since.. she's the only character I was able to beat the game with at that time. After that I've followed her all throughout the series.. Alpha, 3rd Strike, and SF4.

"This Chino sucks!"

I just blinked when I heard those words coming from my opponent; a young hispanic man in his twenties wearing a Dodgers jacket. His girlfriend was absently looking on as we went at it on a Championship edition of Street Fighter 2 inside a 7-11 near my school. I was in 6th grade (mid-90s, yes I'm old...) and waiting for my ma to pick me up. I previously only played the original Street fighter 2 and still had no idea how to throw a fireball to save my life. I had chosen Bison (Dictator) because I heard he was the boss and thought he would be OP. I had no idea how to do a psycho crusher or a scissor kick. But there was one move that I found to be my savior that day: the slide. The guy saw me playing single player and realized that I was a noob. He put in his quarter and picked ken. He knew how to throw out those fireballs and uppercuts, and thats when he called me out.

Thats when I unleashed my slides of terror. Everytime he whiffed his dragonpunches, i would punish him by tripping him. And when he got back up I waited for him to dp and whiff. This happened until I also found out about throwing. I abused these two moves like no other. Soon I saw Ken go down for the final time, and I watched with glee as my opponent mutter obscenities and put in another quarter. And lose.

Another quarter. And Lose.

This happened for two more times when I felt that this guy was going to physically hurt me, so I muttered some excuse and left the 7-11, with a smile on my face.

xbox 360 ftw!

My favorite Street Fighter memory happened in when I was playing 3rd Strike with some friends. I was playing Ken and playing against a Q. I started my super art 3 around the same time he started super art 2 and Ken's foot clashed with Q's fist and they were stuck in place with their sprites vibrating back and forth for a good 5 seconds or so with Ken ultimately winning the clash.

If I win, I'd like my stick to be for 360.

(PS3) My greatest memory of Street Fighter was finding a main (Honda)... and then found the inspiration to be great like Akimo and Mike Ross. That's when I took Street Fighter seriously.

Preference: (360)

Followed MadCatzInc. on Twitter and Facebook?: Check

Favorite Moment: My favorite moment would have to be at a local Nathan's arcade that had a MvC2 Cabinet. There were guys pulling off very impressive combos, footsies, and mindgames. At this point in time, I had just started to into the fighting game genre, and wasn't too confident in my skills. Luckily enough I was able to pull off a win against the guy racking up all the wins (he was trolling me by picking my same team backwards) and the look on his friend's faces were priceless....Needless to say nothing can replace the arcade exprience, but owning an arcade stick sure bring back that sweet nostalgia! Thanks Bitmob for the chance!

Preference: 360

My fondest memory involving SF is exactly why I'm entering this lol. I have slowly been getting some friends into REAL fighting game play as opposed to just mashing. Teaching them how to play footsies, the joy of pulling of combos and, most importantly, how to play mindgames with your opponent. Seeing them improve so much has been incredibly rewarding and now the last step is getting them used to stick over the 360's horrid D-pad!

a fond memory of SF is when I first mashed out down fierce into fierce Shoryuken with Ken in Super Street Fighter 2 for a dizzy and victory. it wasn't until I got it for Sega Genesis when I learned how to do Shoryukens reliably without mashing and 2 in one combos reliably. this was a memorable stepping stone that paved the way for me to platinum trophying both SF4 and SSF4. we all gotta start somewhere.  Ps3 version please.

I've been playing Street Fighter ever since the beginning of time.  Well, thats what it seems like.  I remember buying my Super Nintendo on the release day of Street Fighter II.  I was happy that I didn't have to use anymore of my lunch money at my local 7-11.  I'm sure all of us here have played the hell out of every Street Fighter game, but how many can say that they have beaten the original Street FIghter?  Not Street Fighter II, not Street FIghter 3rd strike, not Street Fighter IV, but STREET FIGHTER.  Remember that game, it was impossible to beat Sagat.  It was impossible to throw a Hadouken!  I've probably spent over $50 trying to beat this game as a kid.  It wasn't until a few years ago that I was able to conquer one of my childhood's failed accomplishments.

I strolled into a nickel arcade in Whittier California and there it was.  An authentic original STREET FIGHTER arcade cabinet.  I started playing with one goal in mind, beat the damn game.  It was a breeze beating the computer the first few matches, but I still don't know how to do the bonus stages.  A few nickels later I found myself against the last boss, Sagat.  It wasn't until my fourth or fifth try when finally... SHORYUKEN!!!  Ryu finally decided to dragon punch and scar the hell out of his rival!  No joke, probably the only time his dragon punch would come out after trying it a million times.  My fondest memory, defeating the original STREET FIGHTER arcade game, in historic fashion.

thanks bitmob!  i can use the sticks for either Xbox360 or PS3.. you decide =)

how could you not love the original Street Fighter?? It was in the movie Juice, with 2pac.  He even broke the game and Samuel L Jackson kicked him out..  simply amazing

My favorite street fighter memory would have to be going to ECT2, my first and only major tournament(so far) and 2nd tournament ever, and then getting to play issei's yun with my dudley in 3rd strike.  He tested me out a bit in the first game, to see how hard he should play and i won meaning he had to turn it up which was a nice ego boost for me.  The atmosphere was hype and that is one of my best memories now.

I play on xbox360.

(PS3) My favorite street fighter memory is probably the neighborhood tournaments we used to have in my garage using an original SFII arcade cab. The machine had brand new joysticks and buttons so it played like a dream.

PS3, please!

When I was a kid I played tons of fighting games with my brother.  Street Fighter was always my absolute favorite.  Well, Super Street Fighter 2, actually.  I had a mad crush on that 8-bit Ryu.  My brother, eight years my senior, would always kick the crap out of me because honestly neither of us knew what we were doing.  Actually, he probably did, but he never taught me.  One day, we were playing and I was button mashing and he was button mashing in between hadokens and suddenly his character is on the ground and it's telling me I won!  I couldn't believe it, he couldn't believe it, and then....he kicked my ass in the next round.  Yeah, it took me a while to actually get good, but that first victory was pretty damn heartwarming.  These days he can't beat me unless I intentionally pick someone I know I'm not good with.  Don't tell him.

(PS3) By far my recently favorite Street Fighter memory would have to be when I was at my last tournament. It was the semi-final round, right before finals an I was up against my cousin who thought me every thing I had to know about Blanka. We but had one set on our plates, an both pretty much out of health. I get a sweep on him, hop backwards, he wakes up ultra (was at a safe distance for the ground pound not to hit me) I then decide to go for it an perform mine as well.. We both hit at the air an ended with a draw.. by far my most favorite memory of all time..

My favorite Street Fighter moment thus far would have to be when I beat all of my friends in the room as random each time on Super Street Fighter 4, using my friends newly acquired Mad Catz TE Stick. My win streak lasted for hours, good times. I would like a PS3 stick as well please so that I can continue training.

My favorite memory of SF is playing SF2 (I think it was CE) for the SNES ulitimately proving to my friends that the down kick that Chun Li does can be used three times to in a row, and then going on to beat them for awhile using that move (PS3 please)

(PS3) My first “Street Fighter” memory is being a little kid, peeping in between the taller kids as they played "Street Fighter II" at a local Mall arcade, just to see that type of gaming-action that I had never seen before. It was so fast and exciting, almost a ballet of some sort where I didn't understand the concepts or tactics being used, but it was still great. And also quite memorable till this day, even if the arcade where I used to visit and watch those bigger kids play no longer exist.

I hope I win!

Sweet contest, I'd love one for 360! Best memory I have is probably when I started playing SFII with my friends, all I did the first day  was rapid tap kicks for Chun-Li's lighting legs, all my buddies were on the verge of quitting, till they learned how to successfully  shoryuken, then I was the one on the verge of quitting, oh the life of a scrub.

(360) I'll keep it short. Back when I was around 6-7, I was introduced to Street Fighter II by my uncle and instantly fell in love with it.  A couple of years later, I learned about an arcade nearby. I went from controllers to arcade sticks, and got wrecked. Hard.  Eventually, the only arcade in my area was closed. I still play fighters till this day and would love to have that arcade feel at home.

I wouldn't mind owning a 360 version since i've had to go back to using the pad.  Anyways, favorite memory was when i was living in Korea say about 19 years ago.  I was at the arcade played Street Fighter II Champion Edition ( wasn't those pirated rainbow editions either) and i repeatedly owned a G.I. there with Bison.

XBOX 360 My fondest memory of street fighter is seeing SF2 WW for the first time at the corner store when I was 11 years old. There was a large crowd of guys blocking the entrance to the store surrounding the machine, which was placed in the corner of the entrance.  You could hear heckling and laughing as guys went head to head on the old stand-up arcade machine. I remember squeezing through the crowd, anxious to see what the fuss was about. I recall feeling too intimidated to try it out, thinking there were too many buttons for me to understand. I returned every afternoon after school to watch the spectacle and to soak up as much as I could about the game mechanics.  I eventually worked up the courage to try it out which I'm sorry to say didn't go very well. But it left a lasting impression which remains to this day.

360 - My favorite street fighter memory stems from my youth, SSF2 on the genesis. My brother and I were our only competition so we played each other endlessly. We were pretty even and had many close matches. We then tacked the time trials and I remember I KO'd CPU sim w/ ken in 6.25 seconds.

(xbox360)  The first game I bought for my sega genesis (meaning my parents because I was probably 8 or 9) was Street Fighter 2: CE.  I was so obsessed with the game, I would fall asleep reading the instruction booklet so I could memorize every characters moves.  I had to know the command and the input for everyone.  I was a ryu and ken player from day one.  Still play those characters in Super, but Chun is my main so that stick has me drooling.

My favorite Street Fighter memory was simply learning to play. I was first introduced to Street Fighter by some buddies of mine back in fourth grade. We were going to the same summer daycare, so we got to spend the summer together. They showed me some version of Street Fighter II on the SNES. The first thing they taught me was how to hadoken. But, being that the sound card on the SNES was total crap, it didn't really sound like Ryu was saying "Hadoken"... I tried using the quarter-circle motion when playing as Chun-Li to no effect. After kicking my butt in a few matches, they finally told me that Chun was a charge character. We spent the entire summer playing Street Fighter II, but none of us ever used normals. We were scrubs, but it was a lot of fun. (xbox360)

360- My favorite street fighter memory comes from Evolution of this year. Although my pool was stacked with great players like Ryan Hart, Mike Watson, Inthul, Wolfkrone, etc. and I got knocked out by the guy who eventually won my pool and Perfect Sin, I had a great time and everyone that I met was definitely willing to help me with my game. Going to bigger tournaments is such an amazing experience that I'd advise everyone to start traveling and participating as much as they can. Tournaments like Evo, Season's Beatings, etc. can only support us for so long. We have to support them also.

(360) The first time I've ever played Street Fighter was way back when II came out. Although I wasn't very good when i used my favorite character Blanka (I didn't even know you had to charge moves) I would spend hours playing the game. Then one time when i went to go visit a country down in south america, I was really itching to get my game on. So I went to a local arcade around town, but the place was a bit of a dump (being a poor town and all) yet at the corner of the arcade was a Street Fighter II arcade cabinet. I went to work at putting in my quetzals (the currency) in the machine and picking my main. A few other kids were watching me play and kept on snickering whenever I would lose. It got to the point where one of them came up to me and took hold of the controls and said "Eh, tu, usted tiene que cargar primero."  Which is spanish for saying that you need to charge first. He was doing all the rolling attacks I've seen the computers do and I was amazed! I asked him if he could stay and teach me more about the game, which he was more than willing to do. Although we come from two vastly different countries with different languages, customs, and norms, street fighter bridged that dividing gap. That was one of my favorite SF related memories.

(PS3) I tend to play projectile characters, so for me the fondest Street Fighter memories are when it's final round, both players have slivers of health left and I'm either throwing pojectiles to finish them off or to neutralize my opponent's. Nothing more satisfying then stuffing an unsafe projectile with a jumping heavy in a close match to clinch the win :).

Best Street Fighter Memory has to be in '91, walking into a old Liqour store as little kid and seeing a huge gathering crowded around a loud machine. Hmm, my favorite street fighter memory... oh yes.. when i was about 10 years old, I saw this arcade machine called Super Street Fighter II Turbo not knowing what it was. I was intrigued because it was mobbed by so many kids. I approached it with a couple of tokens in my hand and see if i can try my luck. After some kid walked away I put my tokens in and started playing ( mind you i still have no idead what this game is.). I remember picking the black dude with the thumbs up and a smile, which we now know as DeeJay. The kid playing laughed at me and i was just like "i dont know how to play". we started playing and being the young kid that i am just mashed buttons. And guess whatby some miracle i beat him by just mashing/spamming kicks haha. I won a few more matches but making that kid so salty was the best part and i will never forget that.

Oh and if you guys happen to pick my entry, Please send me an Xbox 360 stick :) Thank you!

My greatest memory? Is when I pulled off a Low Fierce Punch, and comboed it into a Firece Shoryuken with Ken Masters for the first time, which resulted in a Perfect Victory! That was on Street Fighter Two Hyper Fighting, in a Online Quarter Match. ^_^ Later that day, I went back into the Quarter Match lobby, fought against some really good dudes, and me and this one guy, had a Double KO!! To finish each other off.  ^_^

Should I win this, (Hopefully I do) I would like the Xbox 360 one. :) Thank you and good luck to everyone on winning. (:

(PS3): Favorite memory is when I won a match without even trying; I was distracted because I had to answer a phone call during round 2. During round 1, I tried my hardest to get in on my opponent, but failed. Round 2, phone rang, and I had to pick it up, surprising took the round. Round 3 started as soon as I hang up, continued to focus on getting in on my opponent and ended up losing. Funny how I won a round without trying, but when I proceed to try, I end up losing.

(360)  I've always known and been somewhat involved in SF but the first game I have taken seriously was SF4.  I went to my first EVO in 2009 and the and the hype I experienced there throughout every single finals is not only my favorite memory of Street Fighter, but as a fighting game player period.

360 - I have too many awesome battle memories - all of them comebacks of sorts. But I know some of the best memories I have and will have in the future will stem from meeting the local scene here in Grand Rapids, MI. Stumbling onto one of the members in an optionselect.com stream, we met up that weekend and just him introducing me and my roommate Matt (who finally started getting into street fighIer after that) and getting our arses handed to us was great :D

I would like a 360 stick.

Out of all the moments I had , I think my most memorable one is when I won my first SFIV 2v2 tournament with a friend and how close the final match was. It came down to my friend getting the victory in the last match after I got eliminated after taking out 2 teams by myself. The time ticked down to 10 seconds and both health bars were evenly matched. Right as the time over message came on the screen, my friend got one more hit in, winning the tournament. We both left the place with a nice amount of pocket change and more 2v2 toruney experience.

(PS3) My favorite memory is probably when my friend and I were skipping school to go play Street Fighter 3rd strike when one of the security guards at my high school found us trying to skip. So literally for a good 15min. he was just chasing us, sprinting, trying to make us go back to school but because of our strong desire to go play 3rd strike and to just not be in school we finally made it to our destination huffing and puffing while smiling and laughing lol.

Personal Street Fighter memories...Playing SSF2HDR with my friends on Xbox 360.  After weeks of trash talk culminating to the showdown, my rival and I go at it, and he literally pummels me, with practically every character in the game.  So, I come to an epiphany: Zangief has really been putting people on notice after that last Evo, (JWong being shutdown by Vangief and SnakeEyes winning the championship for SSF2HDR), so I figure what the hell.  I used to hate the character when i played on genesis (throws seemed to complicated on those lame genesis/snes gamepads).  But with the 360 pad, it was a whole different story.  I shutdown his game completely mashing throws like a noob.  It was fun though, every throw was so huge and everyone was roaring while my rival was facepalming all over the place.  I'd definitely want a 360 pad though to startup my foray into the hardcore scene.  Fei Wong ftw!

PS3 version.

My most memorable experience in Street Fighter was when I played in a Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo tournament a few years back. It was round robin style. I watched two guys play, one guy was young while the other one was older and brought his son with him. The younger guy mercilessly beat the older guy, embarrassed him, and was overall a poor sport about winning. That really irked me because he humiliated the older guy in front of his own son. When it was my turn to play, I destroyed the young obnoxious player in front of everyone. But when I played against the dad, I intentionally lost to him just so that he wouldn't be humiliated in front of his own son. I don't have regrets to this day.

I remember the first day that Street Fighter 3 appeared at my favorite arcade in Fort Worth, TX. Almost every machine in the place was untouched and the line wound out the door. My cousin and I went equipped with the five dollars our parents were kind enough to give us and we stood in line for an hour before we had our shot at the current champ.

He had long, greasy blonde hair and a Nirvana T-shirt on and his Ryu had won 16 rounds in a row. We both payed our 75 cents (so expensive!) and promptly lost, only to be shuttled to the back of the line. Instead we opted to sit on the sides watching and cheering when someone would get close to beating the grungy champion. Finally, 5 minutes after my dad showed up, someone finally took him down. The whole place went wild as my dad grabbed our hands and pulled us away.

I play on Xbox 360.

My favorite street fighter 4 memory is probably when I was on a 17 win streak at Arcade Infinity. This happened last year when I was 17.... it was ironic how I was 17 and I was on a 17 win streak. This is coming from a player new to the scene. I've played street fighter games in the past but never seriously... I never got into street fighter until SF4 came out and I was still fairly new to the game at the time. All the loud hussle and bussle I guess allowed me to beat down 17 people =D..... I am PS3 User so please send me a PS3 Fight Stick! =)))))))))))

(PS3 Stick)

My favorite moment was when I got a Platium in SFIV. That is def the most memorable moment I have in the game. You don't know how HARD it is to earn all the trophies in SFIV, specially in Trials... It's a big PAIN and I'm so happy I'm finally done with 100%. The moment when I heard the trophy noise and the plat pop up, I was so happy and I felt so accomplished. It did cost me one dualshock 3 controller and one logitac ps3 controller to get the platium.. SFIV is very hard and you can actually break normal controllers while playing it. If you ask me, why I didn't get a fight stick, its out of my budget :( But yeah, would love to win a stick so I can play SFIV with a stick this time. If I win, I would like to get the PS3 version and possible purchase SSFIV and try to get 100%.

(PS3 please) My favorite memory is a recent one. I'm pretty noob to the SF4 series. I did play a lot of SF2 on the SNES (grade school) and 3s on the DC (city college) but I just got a copy of SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4 less then two months ago after watching a friend of a friend playing it at his house. I thought I was done with the series till that night due to work and other things taking up too much time. But I was wrong! I'm hooked and watch all the youtube videos from streams and tournaments, and I listen to so many podcasts that usually don't even talk about how to improve your game at SSF4 but I don't care because I just love it anyways. Then when I should be already asleep I stay up practicing my bread and butter combos and other things in training mode. And finally after all the sweat and dedication I'm holding my own - almost got that 10 wins in a row trophy on so many nights hehe. All of that time, work and fun I had put into improving my skill is my favorite Street Fighter memory. Hopefully with that TE stick to replace my SE I will see another nice improvement in my game. Thanks!

I'd like a stick for the 360.

My favorite memory of Street Fighter has to be when my cousin brought over Street Fighter 2 Turbo for SNES to my house for the first time. I had a lot of trouble pulling off any attacks, and I felt so accomplished the one time I pulled off a dragon punch. Street Fighter quickly became my favorite series, to the point where I actually used Blanka as my nickname in laser tag, and often pretended to be Blanka when we were play fighting on the schoolground. "No, I used my electric attack when you kicked me, so you got electrocuted!"

I only got into SF recently with SF4 and then SSF4, which I play regularly.

So my memories with it are only a year old. But my favorite memory is one time my friend and I played in person with our fight sticks for the first time (we got fight sticks when SSF4 came out because by then we were more serious about playing consistently). We just had a lot fun trash-talking and cracking jokes about all of the characters and stuff...Very great times. I kind of wish we had recorded it, I feel like it would've made an amusing stream. xD

(PS3)

Back around the time Street Fighter II World Warrior first came out on the arcade.  I was playing against my Cousin,  He was Zangief and I was Guile.  None of us know any of their special moves.  However towards the end of the fight I ended up throwing 3 sonic booms in a row, I didn't know how to perform it at the time.  It shocked my cousin and win the match. Note: I was around 8 at that time, he was 12

MY fondest memory of street fighter was when i first stepped up to a street fighter 2 arcade cabinet and knew it was gonna be a ton of fun. I was terrible at the inputs but i came back for more and wanted to be better than anyone i knew. Since then i bought almost every street fightet that came about. Like street fighter 3 3rd strike, marvel vs capcom 2, capcom vs snk 2, and so many more.  Because I am street fighters biggest fan.

I've been playing street fight since I was 8 at least but I wasn't any good until I discovered the competitive fighting game scene about 3 or 4 years ago...which brings me to my fondest street fighter memory. I was playing in a team tournament for regular ol sf4 about a year ago and my teammates and I decided that I should go first in line. My poor teammates barely got to play because I pretty much ran through the other teams by myself save for one guy who got kinda lucky. I recently had to sell my fightsticks to pay some bills and it'd be nice to have a 360 stick to practice on again.

My favorite Street Fighter memory happened when I was in grade school.

Some of my friends and I had played the Street Fighter II Championship Edition in an arcade cabinet at our local Wal-Mart and we all loved it but none of us were very good.

I eventually got the Sega Genesis cartridge for it. I let my friends borrow it We all took turns with it until I eventually got it back and we all played together for the first time. My friend with his actual six button controller hundred hand slapped me and the other throwing sonic booms at my poor Ryu's head. I could get the special moves to work every once in awhile but with no degree of regularity you see. So my luck and my friends simpler moves kept us all on even ground.

Until it happened.

We were all little morons who didn't care for reading or understanding directions. Charging and tapping really fast were about as good as it got. Until I made the connection between my luck of executing a dragon punch and fireball and the actual instructions of how to do so. Before, I had been trying to tap all directions at once but now I understood the deep intricacies of the "rubbing" motion on the D-pad.

So as the story goes, my best Street Fighter memory was "rubbing out" a my first ball of blue-white glory on command in a room with two other guys in grade school.

I would repeat this move several times and the playful cries of "cheater" and "cheapness" would come from the Guile and E. Honda players, but all too soon they would learn to fear the fierceness of Sho-Ryu-Ken and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku.

I would absolutely love either fightstick. (in my hand)

(360). Favorite moment in Street Fighter At EVO 2004 Semi-finals match with Justin Wong versus Daigo.  Daigo making the clutch comeback and creates the SF meme, "Let's Go Justin!" in the process!  Of course being there in person helps to add to my favorite moment!

I have two favorite memories, each pretty important to my life as a Street Fighter player.  The first is the first time I saw a Street Fighter World Warrior arcade machine.  It was in a Pizza King on RT 46 in Denville New Jersey.  I would always beg my parents to take my there so I could eat pizza and play Street Fighter.  When I first started playing I would always win two rounds and the lose the third and have to put another quarter (yes they actually only used one quarter back in the day).  I never forget the time I figured out how to do the Sonic Boom, I thought it was the greatest thing in the world.  Eventually I found an actual arcade that was a bit closer.  My other memory which could possibly rival the first is when I was at college.  We had a game room at my college, University of Hartford.  We had SF2, Alpha, SF3, and Marvel VS Street Fighter.  Pretty much every night there was some serious competition there.  We had tournaments regularly, with some heated rivalries, and some pretty epic matches.  The best part of the machines was they were on free mode, so we didn't have to waste what little money we had on them.  Those are my favorite memories of Street Fighter, I will never forgot them for the rest of my life, and have forever etched Street Fighter into my heart as one of my favorite games of all time.  It brings a tear to my eye even thinking about it.

(Ps3 or 360) I have both

I remember playing SF2 in the arcades in my small town.  But when It came home my brother and I knew we really wanted it.  I begged my dad for it and he bought it home from Electronic Boutique (EB Games to you youngins.)  He told me this game cost alot of money.  I think 75 to 90 bucks because of the extra memory in the cart. He told us we to do one thing.  Pronounce the word Boutique.  My brother and I spend 30 minutes trying to pronouce it in english but it was a trick because it was French and being only 9 and 10 made it more diffcult.  After we said it right we ran upstairs and popped the game in to the SNES.  Our parents regret this decision because all the neighborhood kids would come over and we would have 6 hour tournaments.  I remember learning how to throw my first Dragon punch with Ken (HE HAD MY NAME) but later opted to play as Chun Li.  We would argue and all day.  Fighting games continued to come thru my house and friend still come over.

Today my brother wouldn't dare play me in SSF4 or any fighting game.  My friends jump online every now and then and we play a few rounds with kids, and/or spouses its hard but easy thanks to PSN or Xbox live but I would love to have a brawl for it all in my home with a few friends.  When playing SFIV when my dad came to visit me, he asked what I was playing.  I retold him the story I just told and he was like "They just did a fourth one?"  I thanked for helping learn the word "Boutique"

My console of choice is the xbox 360.
